I got my kitchen remodel last summer. Its turned out beautiful and I get lost of complements. This is the 3rd time I have used this company I am very happy with them. If I needed work like this done again I wouldn't need to look elsewhere.

Very pleased with the overall attention to detail and punctuality. Their designer was very cooperative and had suggestions and explanations for changes. Jason gave us a work schedule with dates and times and kept us informed as to the times when we could expect the workers and what was going to happen. Everything happened exactly as promised and there were no unexpected glitches. The workers were all very friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend Embee and Son for your project.

The good:
1. Cabinet installer did an oustanding job ( twice). John took his time, and was very impressed with his work. Cove cut mitres on crown, and all seams were very tight. The problem was they installed uppers before setting the countertop and the bookcases that met counter had excessive gaps.
The O.K.:
1. Oak stair overlay. Cost was very high ~4k, and have several nails in the treads that are highly visible. Nails were too long and had to cut flush from underside in closet. wood flooring has large gaps on landing. Had to remind them to install shoe molding and I had to paint!
The bad: (almost everything else).
1. had to move a light switch box, because cabinet layout overlapped box.
2. Granite countertop seam not in agreed location. Believe it was remenant pieces instead of a single slab.
3. Carpet installation was the worst I've ever seen. They sub contracted the work to someone I don't believe has ever installed berber carpet. They did not know to put a "fresh" edge where it seams and had very unsightly seams. carpet was not stretched to edges and had several gaps at doorways, and stairs. I ultimately had to hire another contractor to resolve the issue.
Almost every task of each job had to be redone or fixed by me or someone else I hired. We ultimately settled once I shared all the work and cost incurred by me to complete the job properly.
Not sure how I would rate them based on other contractors of similar work, but they are on par with what I've found in this area and now resort to doing everything myself.

We will NEVER use this company again! First of all they are more expensive than other places but, more importantly, they were horrible businessmen. We contracted them to put tile in one of our bathrooms, install carpet in our family room and vinyl floor covering in our weight room and retro room. There are so many negative experiences with these people I don't even know where to begin. We ordered one type of carpet for our family room and when we got home and saw it it was the wrong carpet. When I said something to the workers they were rude and said to take it up with the owner. And they just left. Then when they sold us the vinyl flooring they told us it wouldn't stain and that was a complete lie. It is now yellowed when it is supposed to be white, the black is discolored. THEN we had so many invoices one got by us and it went a little past due. We ALWAYS pay our bills on time, our credit rating is about 820, and this was a total mistake. The guy actually came to our house and DEMANDED payment from us as if we were deadbeats. It was then I told him that the carpet they installed was NOT the correct carpet and he wouldn't even look at it.
Bottom line is his work his shoddy, he is expensive, and they are rude, arrogant, and totally do not care about us as a customer. Do yourself a favor and pass on this company.
I cannot remember the exact dates but it has been a while. I would have written a review before but I just joined Angies List and didn't have the chance before.

I met with Angie, one of their designers, she was great in keeping a simple design that would help keep me in a tight budget. She was always available to answer questions and offer ideas. The showroom has hundreds of samples for everything from flooring to door handles! I had a complete kitchen remodel, a tub shower replaced, built in bookcases added to the living room, laminate wood flooring with stairs and railings. The work took about 13 days. Jason and his cast of many were great, they were friendly and hard workers, they did an excellent job on everything and were neat as you can possibly be on a big project. It was like any other big remodel were there is a lot going on,big and small projects, at the same time so you want to be sure to try to allow for extra days if you can and keep an eye on everything to make sure nothing gets missed with so many people coming and going. They did a wonderful job. I would not hesitate to use them again, I feel that I got a good value for what I spent.

Perfect

They did a great job. They were on time. They told us how long they would be here each day and gave us a list of what work would be done for that day. They cleaned up after themselves. They are very dependable.

I absolutely loved them. I spent around $3500 on that work. The flooring was absolutely gorgeous. They seemed to be a little rushed in the end. They had done some work for me some time back which was wonderful.

They did an excellent job. They have been around for a long time and they are a locally owned company. It was great and they were professional. They were really nice to work with and their prices were competitive. It was a good price. I would highly recommend them.
