Elevated Contracting Solutions

Not usually one to write reviews of businesses, but I am shocked at the way Devan Snyder - the owner of this company, treated us. While his pricing was lower than competitors, there is a reason. He told us that he would have it completed in 3 days, granted there was snow - so we were understanding. We were told that a giant dumpster would be in our driveway for the first day only (it was delivered 3 days ahead of time). When trash day came around, instead of trying to wheel our cans through 5 inches of snow around this giant dumpster we tossed our things inside of the dumpster. The next morning when I walked out the door to go to work, I was immediately yelled at by Devan. Apparently, he was keeping his tools and generator inside the dumpster and flipped out on us because we dented the top of it. He was literally swearing at me. I was so shocked that someone would treat a customer like this that I started to argue back with him - telling him that we were sorry, but that we didn't know he kept his things on our property - in a dumpster. I told him that my fiancé would be up and outside shortly and he could talk about it with him. As I walked to my car, I could hear him say that he was going to call his lawyer. This is immediately where I started to get worried about the completion of the project. Someone who jumps to call their lawyer so quickly is obviously out to make a quick buck based on his own stupidity. If he would have asked we would have gladly allowed him to use our garage. Much safer than inside a dumpster. I immediately called my fiancé because I could not believe Devan talked to me like that. My fiancé told me that Devan continued to argue with him well into the morning and left our property shortly after I did. Devan wanted us to pay for gas and his hourly employees who would not be able to work because we ruined his equipment. Not to mention he sent harassing texts to my fiancé’s phone trying to shame us into paying more money. Even including that we were responsible for his lack of money and the way it related to his daughter! We offered to pay for parts or for a rental. He still was incredibly hostile with us and refused to apologize. Not to mention he sent harassing texts to my fiancé’s phone trying to shame us into paying more money. After that was taken care of and we came to an agreement on the price we would pay, we were nervous about the quality of the work that would be done. Devan continued to keep his tools in the dumpster overnight. When I came home on Thursday afternoon, there were tire tracks in our yard, grease on our front porch and a huge mess in our law of nails and pieces of roof material. On Friday, Devan told my fiancée that he needed to be paid upon completion of the project which would be around lunch time and that he couldn't come back later. So, just to get it all over with, my fiancé took an extended (unpaid) lunch to go and pay him. When he arrived at our house he told Devan that he wanted get up on the roof and check the work. Devan again flipped out and said that they never agreed that my fiancé would check the roof before payment. Eventually, Devan realized his foolishness and they agreed that the roof needed to be checked. Once checked, my fiancé gave him a check made out to Elevated Business Solutions and asked if they would be continuing to clean up the area. Devan assured him that they were cleaning up. Fast forward to 3 hours later, when Devan calls up my fiancé because he doesn’t actually have a business banking account and needed a check made out to him. So Devan came back after we got off work to get the corrected check. Again never saying that he was sorry about any of it. And because the dumpster was STILL in our driveway, we asked when we could expect it to be removed. Devan said that he had called the company and it should be picked up by end of day Monday. Come Tuesday and the dumpster still had not been removed, so my fiancé decided to take it into his own hands (since Devan refused to respond to any text messages or phone calls) and called the dumpster company regarding when pick up could be expected. The company told him that no one had called regarding the pickup. Once the snow melted, we were able to see the extent of clean up that was not done. Nails and roof pieces all over our entire yard, and some in our neighbor’s yards. We have thus far spent 4 hours cleaning up these pieces. Our backyard is particularly bad because they didn't put down a tarp to collect debris that fell. We are reasonable and amicable people and are completely shocked by the way that we were treated by Devan Snyder and Elevated Contracting Solutions. Not only will I never recommend this company to anyone but I am going out of my way to make sure that no one else is put into the situation we were in. It’s more than just being a shady contractor. Did he way over order shingles? Yes. Did he keep the extras? Yes. That’s one thing, but the way he treated us was completely unacceptable. Am I worried that he will come back to us and do something stupid because of this review? Yes. But I will not let that stop me from telling other people: DO NOT GO INTO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN!
