Our family room is built on a concrete slab foundation. We've had water issues forever. We've had others try to figure out why & make suggestions. We hired a company previously that said they could fix it, helped some but still had some wetness after rains. We made a good decision to have David from Basement Waterproofing Solutions come take a look. He studied, he measured & he figured it out. We still check for wetness after a hard rain, we've done it for 20 years. The room has stayed dry for over a year & we are very thankful to David and his team!

I recently purchased a house and discovered significant mold problems in the basement. Both the wall paneling and the insulation behind it were contaminated. I ended up with four estimates. The BWS estimate was the most thorough, in terms of explaining what would be done, and their price was reasonable. Subsequent to starting the work, it was discovered that the removal of certain building materials would prove more difficult than originally anticipated. David, the owner, did not flinch and try to increase the price. He merely figured out what needed to be done and got his workers to do it. The crew doing the work was, in general, personable and professional. The simplest way to put my experience with BWS is that they are the kind of company one is glad to do business with.

Brent was on time and very professional. He’s a senior inspector and was very knowledgeable. He looked things over and showed where there were possible water entrances and what to do to take care of the water already there. I followed the advice he gave per my issues and the problem I had was fixed. He also gave us information on how we can permanently fix the situation. If we need his services in the future we will not hesitate to call. I would definitely recommend his services to others when approached with issues concerning crawl space and basements.

The company was responsive came out did the estimate and completed the job. They did a great job. I would recommend them, the team was nice and completed in less than a day. Also did some extra stuff that we needed done. My only issue now is that we have been waiting for them to call us back about some more work we were quoted on and have yet to get a response.

We used Basement Waterproofing Solutions for a very wet basement in a 100+ year old home in Adamstown, PA. The basement has probably NEVER been dry until we contracted with David several months ago. We had the work done in October 2017, but I waited to write the review because I wanted to be able to assure other readers that the basement has continued to stay dry. It has! Every time I go to the basement and actually SEE the floor - it makes me smile. For YEARS the basement ALWAYS had standing water in it and I never saw an actual floor since it was always covered in water or filth/debris from water that had evaporated. David was always responsive to my questions/phone calls and his workers were very good about cleaning up after the days work was done. In addition to the waterproofing we also had the vapor barrier installed and we couldn't be happier with the results. Attached is a photo of part of the basement. Thanks, David!

"[Member Name Removed], Thank you for the kind words. As you said, this project had some real unique challenges and we are happy to hear and see with your picture, that this basement is now a DRY and healthier space. I will be seeing our crew this morning and be sure to pass along the good news. David Horner BWS"

Looking for honest people? Stop here and give these guys a call. I had water coming into my basement from an unknown source causing damage to the drywall, carpet and mold to start forming. Brent showed up, he was polite, courteous and went straight to work diagnosing the issue. Brent talked me through every step of the way with his troubleshooting, leaving nothing for me to be concerned or worried about. He explained everything he was going to do and why before performing the task. The troubleshooting led to tearing a part of the dry wall down to take a peak behind. After some insulation and more dry wall removal, he found that water was not coming through from the outside but was instead a leaking pipe behind the wall. Good for me, since plumbers are cheaper than waterproofing a basement; bad for him since I wouldn't need waterproofing. Even after this revelation he mentioned the mold was isolated to a small area and cutting the area out would be sufficient. No mold remediation needed, another hit to his bottom line. The kicker...after all this work he walked away without charging me a penny stating that it was only "simple" troubleshooting. I wouldn't expect every house call he makes to be free like mine, they are a business after all, but the shear honesty and trustworthiness he exuded makes me hope my basement does actually spring a leak one day so I can give these guys another call.

The work was scheduled for two days and went smoothly. Total actual work time was just over 8 hours. They cleaned up the area very nicely, got paid and left the property. I breathed a sigh of relief to have this project finally completed after years of being at Mother Nature's whims. I have not experienced any major downpours since the project was completed, but the drain in the bank shows water coming out of the tile system from normal rains, and I'm pleased.

The guy was great, he gave me a great estimate, but I keep getting surveys on him. I don't know if I'm doing them wrong, but I don't have time to keep doing them. They guy came, he did an estimate. He did a great job on the estimate. I would have used him but I didn't get the grant that I applied for. I took the time to do a survey. He did a good job. He came out when I asked him to, the estimate was fair and reasonable. He was knowledgeable. The work was for my nonprofit, but we didn't get the grant. If I'd gotten the grant, I would have used him.

They were very good to deal with. They were very communicative. They were prompt and the people were great to work around, and they answered all my questions. They were top-notch, they were good. It all works! We haven’t had any issues. I don’t remember what the price was, but we did comparison shop and it was definitely comparable. A lot of work was done, it was pretty extensive.

Brent was very knowledgeable to work with.  We told him our concern was concentrated to one wall which showed visible water damage on the floors below.  He even noted the mold that was growing on our beams, which was missed by our inspector and other companies.  After this discovery, we opted for both the installation of the sump pump and mold remediation.

We obtained quotes from three other companies.  BWS was not the lowest quote, but we trusted them the most after meeting Brent and reading reviews.  We scheduled and with two weeks, the work was complete.  The workers cleaned up their gear.  They even filled in a low spot in our basement and closed an open pipe without being requested - pleasant surprise.

Regarding the mold remediation, it's more challenging to provide comments on as unless it's a high mold count, it's not visible.  The basement did smell "clean" after the remediation but we didn't see any big noticeable difference.  I have not conducted an swabbing or testing of the mold before/after.  Again, hard to judge by the human eyes.  Hopefully, with our new dehumidifier, we will be mold free moving forward.

Thus far, we've had some April showers, but no issues with our basement remaining water free.  Definite peace of mind.  Would recommend and use again.

It went very well, they took a lot of time to understand the problem. They encountered a issue after the work was done and was able to resolve it.

They broke up about 18 inches of concrete around the perimeter of our basement. They installed perforated pipe and stone in the drain area and hooked it up to two sump pumps. They even installed taps for dehumidifiers and condensate from the furnace. We had gotten three estimates and theirs was most complete as well as the lowest.  We received a lifetime warranty that is transferrable to the next owner.

Eddie and his crew were prompt and courteous.  All ceiling tiles and concrete debris was removed.  Sistering of the log beams proved difficult because of existing piping and electric lines but Eddie persevered and completed the work.  When the ramp door speed drain didn't catch all run-off, Dave came out to inspect the job and made recommendations.  At no extra charge, Eddie came the next week and made adjustments to the system which have proved to be adequate to correct the problem.

They were recommended, and I was told...David Horner knows dry basements.
So true.
I got 3 estimates, but this was the proposal that was well thought out, complete, and explained very well.  Yes, it was more expensive, but the proposal was a lot more work, and we were doubling our usable house square footage with this solution!  And it has worked out very well indeed.  We downsized to 1/4 of our large home, so usable space in the basement was critical.  Not only did we get the storage we expected, but it ended up being usable space for a sewing area, office space, and a TV lounge area.  Our tiny home is now spacious, with plenty of storage area.  The basement is extremely comfortable.  With the mold remediation and basement cleanup, there are no "basement odors", and my allergies don't act up at all.  Air quality is as good, or better, than the main floor of the house.  During recent heavy rains, I heard the sump pump go on a few times as I was sewing downstairs, but the cement walls and floor were totally dry, and the only way I knew it was on was the slight "hum" as it worked then quickly shut off.  As recommended, we are running a dehumidifier that conveniently empties into the sump pump drainage.
Once the estimate was accepted, we were able to get on their schedule within a couple of weeks.  On the first day, two truckloads of workers arrived on time, politely introduced themselves, and got to work.  As warned, they did kick up dust, but they cleaned up after themselves very well indeed.  Amazing, actually.  The work took a couple of days, and I was kept informed during the process.  When completed, David came back to walk though and explain the units, etc.   Within a day, the basement humidity was nice and dry.  Heck, it was great during the walkthrough, but David said to watch and it would improve even more.  It did.
We are grateful to David Horner, and our Basement Waterproofing Solutions professional work crew.  Grateful...and THRILLED!  When anyone comes to see our "new" old residence, we want to show off the basement.  :-)
