I am offering evening and weekend services for handyman needs. I have worked in the automotive field, landscaping, tree work, and residential maintenance. I am proficient in all of these. In the automotive field I restored vintage vehicles. There was a lot of custom fabrication, rebuilding of original parts, full frame off restorations and service work. I have landscaped on and off for about 8 years. That included everything from fall leaf clean up and mowing, to building out stone staircases with beds along each side. I can fell small trees, but will be picky depending on location. For my residential maintenance experience, I can do electrical, plumbing, and carpentry. I don’t get into HVAC. For plumbing I can do faucets, shower valves, hot water heaters, burst pipes, drain lines. Electrical I can replace breakers, diagnose problems, replace fixtures and devices. Carpentry is pretty wide spread, so please ask and we can determine if it’s something in my wheelhouse. I look forward to hearing from you!

I am a professional with over 25 years of experience assembling products for both residential and commercial customers. I have extensive knowledge with furniture, fitness, grills, etc. I am not a jack of all trades. I do assembly only. I remove all part stickers, touch up any scratches/nicks and adjust all doors and drawers. I respect my customers home/office and leave my area with the trash put back in the boxes and the boxes neatly stacked. So feel confident hiring me for your next assembly. I look forward to working for you. Things to know: I require all items to be in the location they are to be assembled. Assembler does not equal mover. If a box is too heavy do not be afraid to open it and move the pieces. This will not make the job harder or confuse me. Thank you for your cooperation. I do new assembly only. I do not repair/upholster anything or reassemble old items with loose/missing hardware and no manual. I do not hang/mount tvs. Not on the wall or on a tv stand. Not anywhere. I do not hang/mount things on or to walls/ceilings. I also do not assemble items that must hang/mount on or to walls/ceilings. I do not wear a mask. I am vaccinated and believe in the science not the politics. If you do hire me then require that i wear a mask when i show up or cancel for any other reason I will expect a $50 payment for wasting my time and yours. Thank you for understanding. ALSO here is a small list of items I do not assemble: pools or pool related items or pool tables, outdoor basketball hoops, wall mounted murphy beds. Altwork stations, Bestar, FUFU&GAGA, Hodedah, Inval, Love Sac, Manhattan Comfort, HomeCom or Soliwood furniture, Ikea Basta storage/tv stand, PAX wardobe/closet systems and Tuffing beds, any slip-cover sofas, egg shaped/air pumped massage chairs, pergolas, gazebos, chicken coops, sheds, saunas, wood/metal swingsets, trampolines and treadmills, baby gates of any kind. WORD OF NOTE: I am not 420 friendly. I am not judging anyone but if you choose to smoke in your home please do not send me a request unless I will be in another room away from it. I can not take the aroma. Sorry.

"100% recommend his services. Gave a fair price, came at a reasonable time, and did a great job. Couldn’t be more thankful and pleased."

"I found A.M. Home Improvements on Angi's list. I called and with in a few days they were out at my house, with full equipment and they worked all day in the heat sanding my deck. They did a wonderful job, getting off all the old stain and the deck looked like new; ready for the new stain. I would not hesitate to call them again for another job if necessary."

Repair Carport questions, answered by experts

Accurate measurements, sturdy materials, and seamless integration with other structures.

Any bowing in a basement wall signals an issue that needs to be addressed. However, bowing of 2 to 4 inches is more straightforward to fix than bowing of more than 4 inches. That’s why it’s essential to call a pro as soon as you notice the bowing wall. The sooner you address the problem, the easier (and less expensive) it will be to repair.

It’s sometimes safe to replace a load-bearing wall with a beam, but you need a structural engineer to sign off on the project. You’ll also likely have to upgrade to a steel I-beam or another material that’s stronger than wood to maintain the level of support you need without the wall underneath.

Yes, joists are considered structural, as they support the flooring or roofing above them and help distribute the load to the beams, which, in turn, distribute that load to weight-bearing walls or foundational supports directly below them. Joists not only help distribute the load evenly to your beams, but they also provide direct support to the subfloor in flooring systems, which helps reduce creaking and the risk of uneven flooring.

You can use a nail to find ceiling joists, but it’s not as reliable as a stud finder, and you’ll end up with lots of small holes in your ceiling. If the nail hits a joist, you'll feel increased resistance. Mark the spot with a pencil. Repeat this process regularly along the ceiling, 16 or 24 inches apart, until you've mapped out the joist locations.
