"Working with Jeff was so easy. He was very detailed oriented. He offered suggestions that we didnâ t think of and even helped us get the best layout for our budget. Iâ ve used him to help redesign my kitchen for my first house, had him come to my fiancéâ s house for an addition design and now my second house to redesign this kitchen. Very efficient and affordable as well. I Wouldnâ t use anyone else!"

Catering to all but a few residential construction needs, Leinbach Contracting, while a new business on paper, has over a decade of construction experience under the proverbial belt. Starting out framing houses owner, operator and networker Chad Leinbach has experience in a wide variety of projects, from anything exterior to flooring, countertops, and lighting. "I've tried a lot of different things. It helped me to discover what I enjoy and am skilled at, it has also CLEALRY taught me what I need to ask for help with, so that's what I do. I don't try to tackle every job by myself anymore. Its why I love making connections with others who are excellent in their fields. I can do some things they aren't able to and they can do things I can't. So we help each other. It provides a broader range of service to my customers with greater excellence, providing a higher quality product, then me trying to wear all the hats and do everything on my own"

Nicole Bailey Design , the look for less designer of the Philadelphia- Main Line. Our goal is to make interior design, affordable, accessible and fun! No stuffy attitudes or overpriced recommendations! What makes us different from other deign firms: I charge a flat hourly rate, work with ALL budget sizes. We share access to our designer discounts WITH our clients (rather than pocketing the difference!) In a big project our discounts can pay for our services and then some! I am full service, meaning I have trusted and AVAILABLE contractors ,painters, furniture painters, upholsterers and skilled handymen.

"Warning... I had a terrible, what I would consider extremely DISHONEST experience with this designer/contractor. I spoke with Nicole about our kitchen/diningroom re-design and told her that I would want an estimate of the cost. She said she and her contractor would have to come out to see the job in order to give us a price. She showed up with no contractor, but I told her about the job anyway and she informed me that her contractor would not be able to give me a bid until I signed a contract with them (haven't had this issue with any other contractors). A few weeks later, I got a bill for $325 and she claimed that the home visit was a design consultation. She was not helping me design anything. I was telling her about the job and she never even gave me an estimate. She said nothing about charging me to come out and bid the job. She had sent me an infographic that states that she charges $130 per hour for her services and talks about the two different ways that she can work on your project. Nothing in that info graphic said that I'd be charged for her to come bid the job and I think it's purposely ambiguous so that she can trap people in this way and charge them after the fact if she doesn't get their business. I never hired her and signed no contracts, but she charged me for a design consultation and additionally for time she spent talking to her contractor about the job and for time setting up her portal. I did not agree to any of this, but was charged. I tried to work with her about the charges, but she refused to discuss it and I got the impression that this is a common occurrence."

Interior Design and Decorating questions, answered by experts

It is usually worth it to hire an interior decorator, especially if you want your home to have cohesiveness and look like it belongs in a catalog. Interior decorators can be quite expensive, but decorating isn’t an ongoing cost, so you can expect to pay once for the service rather than on an ongoing basis. Interior decorating can be especially worthwhile if you’re selling your home, as house staging can make your property feel more welcoming and help buyers envision themselves living in the space.

Ideally, a pot filler should not be centered but rather installed to the left or right of the cooking surface to avoid having to reach over the hot area to access it. If this arrangement isn't possible, you can technically center a pot filler above the cooking surface, but you'll need to take care not to burn yourself. Also, the filler itself will become hot from a large boiling pot or stovetop.

You should always hang the lights before the ornaments because hanging lights on top of ornaments can cause some to fall off. If a light sits directly on top of an ornament, it can cause it to heat up and possibly change its color or cause it to crack.

Decorators often prefer artificial Christmas trees. They’re easier to handle and shape, and decorators don’t have to worry about bugs or allergies. It’s also an ideal choice because artificial trees keep up appearances without owners needing to schedule watering.

However, always confirm that decorators are ready to unbox and set up the artificial tree. If they don’t include tree set-up in their services, you may need to hire a general handyperson for that task.

While it’s common to use the terms “interior designer” and “interior designer” interchangeably, they are two different professions, although some of their work can overlap.

The most significant difference between an interior designer and an interior decorator is how in-depth they work for the project. Interior designers establish a floor plan, hire contractors, and make permanent decisions about the home, like cabinets and bathtubs. Interior decorators, on the other hand, make less permanent decisions about home decor, such as fabrics, wall art, and paints.
