I had three contractors from Lowe's come into this house, the second contractor did the electrical work that was needed, overloaded my circuit box, and never had inspectors come in. I'm trying to get Lowe's to agree to pay to have a certain thing done. None of the contractors said that I even needed a new circuit box.

I actually bought the wood for the hardwood floor from Lowe's and then they sub-contracted it out. I like to pick out my own materials. So I went to the store and picked out what I thought was good for me. They were very helpful in estimating the square footage and the amount of lumber that was needed. They came pretty close to giving an exact measurement, even without coming out to the house. I have a 12x12 kitchen. So it's rather large. There was very little waste. I liked that about them. This is hand made and hand cut. They did a wonderful job. They had to do a lot of cut outs and things and they did them perfectly. So I was pleased with them. It took them about three days to finish. Everything was cut to size. They work through Lowe's. Lowe's sub-contracts them out. I was very very pleased. It was a fair price for what I got. It has been a year and half and they're looking beautiful. They were here when they said, three days in a row.

The doors never fit properly. Our house is an old house almost everything has to be custom made. He did a shabby job. I just was not a happy camper at all. The back door does not even lock properly now. I will never have them do another door for me. I do not think the problem is with the doors, it is the installation. The company that installed the front door is not the same company that installed the back door. I thought the price was good. He was very professional. He had to improvise to make the doors fit.

Purchase date was 5/11/2011, installed it 5/27/2011. I noticed a seam separation in September of 2011 so I called Lowe's and they sent out their sub contractors(Friends Floor Covers) and they came out and fixed the problem. In December of 2012 I was having the exact same problem from before with the seam separation. Since I am having the exact same problem from within the 1 year warranty that i complained about in September 2011 I would like them to come out and fix the problem without me having to pay for fix. Lowe's is saying it is a manufacturing issue but it isn't.

They certainly had a selection, and I got what I wanted. I am a fair shopper, I liked the price they had, and I was happy to find it. There is a little Mom and Pop store in the suburbs, and they cost way more money per pound, I was happy to pay that price at Lowes, it was a good deal to me. They also have a good selection for people who want to put in plants for the garden or whatever. I prefer to go to Lowes, I find them more friendly, more congenial, and a better place to shop.

Ordered it on 6/25/07 for $731, for delivery 7/16. Called 7/12 to reschedule delivery for 7/17. On return from vacation 7/17, found a note that they'd tried to deliver it that morning. Called, delivery rescheduled for 7/18. Delivered dented machine 7/18 which was returned to store. Reordered machine, delivery 7/26. Nobody showed up 7/26, was told delivery not scheduled. Delivery rescheduled 7/27. Delivered late in the day 7/27, but installed with hot/cold hoses switched. Got $150 credit for initial late delivery and dented machine. Got additional $200 credit for second missed delivery. If they hadn't given us the credit, I would have canceled the whole thing. Lost work days for my wife: 3. Irritation and confusion: sky high. The topper: The first time I called I gave them my home phone #, which they entered incorrectly, so they were calling the wrong number with information about the deliveries. Even though I told them the right number repeatedly they didn't update it.

Lowe's is pretty good. We weren't really helped the first time we went there though. We more or less picked out what we wanted on our own. It was a busy day and no sales people helped us. Now, the second time we came back, a sales person sought us out. He was very helpful and it was a rather quick and easy process. We are quite happy with the stove we got there and the price we paid. I think there are some things Lowe's could improve on but a lot of the time it just is dependent upon the day you go, the time you are there, and how many people they have staffed at the time.

Lowe's really made my refrigerator shopping a pleasant experience. They did not mess up my order at all. They made the whole process very quick. They were organized. They were open to making suggestions and they were informative to me as a customer about options and things of that nature. I would absolutely return to Lowe's to purchase more appliances in the future. They were very helpful and I really was thankful to them for making my whole refrigerator buying experience so easy and quick.

They use outside contractors for everything. I knew this from the beginning but did not expect the long wait to install that occurred. Nonetheless, the installer did a very good job. The doors look beautiful and make all the difference when you drive by & look at the house.

Water Heater Service
Eight weeks to get a water heater properly installed, not leaking in my home. Terrible sub-contractors from Loew's who would literally make we wait all day for them to show up and then call and cancel. They finally returned my installation fee, which does not make up for 2 months of my time and aggravation. Not worth it at all.

Carpet Installation
The salesman worked with us to get a good price (we were considering not purchasing carpeting through Lowes because we were in the middle of dealing with a dispute with the appliance department). In the end, the price won out and we went with Lowes. Ordering and scheduling went well. However, the installers were supposed to be there at 9:00 AM on a Saturday and did not arrive until 3:00. I spent the day trying to contact the installation company to find out where they were. We were not told they would be so late or even given a new time to expect them. We had to wait around the entire day for the installers, and then had to stay home until they finished (around 9:30 at night). Needless to say, both our day and evening plans had to be changed. The installation was sloppy, but we were so tired of dealing with Lowes that we let it go and vowed to never get any type of installation from them again. Out of 3 installation experiences, only one has gone well.

We waited 3 weeks for a Saturday delivery, and when they came (late) they told us they were unable to install it because it was too tall (the salesperson ASSURED us it would fit). The wanted $80 on the spot to "take out the plumbing in order to lift the countertop". They left without installing it. We tried getting in touch with the store, but it took HOURS. No one was available, no one could answer questions, and one of the managers was VERY rude. They told us we would have to pay the extra $80, so we gave in and arranged another installation (another two weeks before they could come out again). They called three times on the day they were supposed to come out because they COULDN'T FIND the dishwasher! They finally found it, and when it arrived the back was dented. I couldn't reach anyone at Lowes, and didn't want to go another month without a DW, so we had them install it anyways. The "major" counter work that we paid $80 for took 30 seconds. They simply lifted the countertop.

The crux of my complaint: project management, my understanding of Lowe's role, was faulty. There was little coordination with subcontractors, deliveries, even Lowe's departments. For information I usually was told to contact the subcontractors myself. Lowes departments I needed to consult sometimes had no representatives during prime hours. It is difficult to get anyone on the phone. They did not deliver all required materials and I paid again for missing items because the installers were waiting. I was sold and delivered the wrong hood and had to personally take back a product too heavy for me to carry for a replacement. My original contact was in May; the job was finished in mid-August after repeated pleas with the subcontractors. Several Lowe's employees were helpful, apologetic, but that did not mitigate the overall frustrating experience. The subcontractors (Suburban Home Care and McLaren (sp?) did a good job.

Decent contractor who did meticulous work. Was actually impressed with quality. Contacting the contractor was difficult, as was working thru Lowes. Getting help at the store was near impossible. Also, if using a store such as this that farms out their contractors one bit of advice - ask for multiple bids from different contractors. You do not have to settle for the first one they give you. Our first one was accommodating but we found out they offered lower quality work. Realize what Lowes gives you - time saving in finding a contractor. Otherwise, the negatives come with the positives.

THE SALESMAN, CONTRACTOR AND WORKERS WERE ALL PLEASANT BUT DID NOT COMPLETE ANY OF THE ASSIGNED JOBS. THE 2 SALESMEN AT LOWE'S DID NOT MEASURE OUR APPLIANCES CORRECTLY SO THAT THEY DID NOT FIT IN THE SPACES THAT THEY MADE AROUND THE CABINETS. THEY ALSO FORGOT TO ORDER SOME OF THE ACCESSORIES WE ASKED FOR. THE CONTRACTOR WAS NOT PROMPT IN COMING TO BEGIN THE CONSTRUCTION OR IN COMING BACK TO DO THE ELECTRICAL OR PLUMBING WORK. THEY REMOVED PART OF A ROOM DIVIDER THAT WAS NOT TO BE REMOVED AND STILL HAVE NOT REPAIRED THE DAMAGE. IT TOOK WEEKS FOR THEM TO RETURN AND HANG CLOSET DOORS THAT WERE CROOKED AND TO PUT ON THE CABINET HARDWARE. WE WERE WITHOUT ANY ELECTRICITY AND WATER FOR OVER 6 WEEKS FOR A JOB THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COMPLETED IN 2 WEEKS. THEY HAVE NOT YET FINISHED DOING PLASTERING WORK FOR CRACKS THEY MADE IN THE WALL AND THE LEFT A MESS LAST TIME. THE ELECTRICIAN AND PLUMBER DID GOOD WORK AND COMPLETED THE JOB WHEN THEY CAME BUT HAD TO WAIT TO BE GIVEN PERMISSION TO COME.

INSTALLERS WERE GREAT. THEY DID A GREAT JOB BOTH TIMES. LOWES SENT OUT DEFECTIVE CARPETS THE FIRST TIME. BECAUSE THE INSTALLERS NOTED THE DEFECT, LOWES AGREED TO THEN REORDER. LOWES NEVER RETURNED ONE PHONE CALL. I WAS TOLD BY A MANAGER THAT AFTER THE INSTALL I'D BE DISCOUNTED FOR THE DAMAGED CARPET AND AGGRAVATION OF WAITING AND HAVING TO MOVE FURNITURE AGAIN AND LOSING A DAY OF WORK, BUT TO DATE I HAVEN'T GOTTEN EVEN A CALL BACK. WHEN I CALL, NO ONE WILL GIVE ME AN ANSWER, YET NO ONE CALLS ME BACK. THE CARPET WAS INSTALLED IN EARLY OCTOBER. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO LOWES AGAIN. HAD THEY RETURNED MY CALLS OR MADE GOOD ON THEIR WORD, I WOULD HAVE GONE BACK...BUT NOT NOW.

I WORKED WITH LOWE'S TO PURCHASE NEW DOORS AND WINDOWS FOR OUR DEN AREA. WE PURCHASED THE WINDOWS AND THEN HAD TO CALL SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE INSTALLATION. ONCE THEY CAME OUT TO DO THE INSTALLATION THEY DAMAGED ONE OF THE WINDOWS AND COULD NOT DO THE INSTALL THAT DAY. THEY HAVE NOT BEEN BACK TO INSTALL A WINDOW I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR AND I CAN NOT GET ANYONE AT THE STORE TO CALL ME BACK.
