I went to King Appliance on June 6th. I put a brand new Kenmore refrigerator on layaway. I gave them $100 and agreed that I would come back in 2 weeks with the rest. They told me they could not use my credit card, I had to get cash. I went across the street, paid a fee, and got cash. I paid them in cash. When I went back in two weeks to pay it off, they still couldn’t take my card. They said the credit card reader was still broken. I did not want to get cash again, and I was in a hurry. At this time I told the owner I would come back the next week and that I was concerned because didn’t see my new refrigerator and asked him where it was. He said it had been moved to another warehouse. While I was there, I also noticed that they had an infestation of cockroaches and told him I wanted to be certain my refrigerator was not infested. This place has really gone downhill since I purchased my washer and dryer here four years ago. The owner told me my new refrigerator would be delivered Wednesday. When it did not come, I called him and he said it was actually to be delivered on Thursday, I did not argue because I just wanted my new refrigerator. On Thursday did not show up, and I was home all day. At that point, I called them and said I will have someone pick it up; I do not want to be charged for delivery. When my delivery person showed up, the gentleman from the store called me and told me that they no longer had my refrigerator (he told the police something different, that it was in the back of the warehouse behind some air conditioners) and they would be giving another to my delivery person. (I had to pay the delivery person $150 for all the time he was stuck there) I asked my delivery person NOT to accept anything or put it on the truck until I get there. When I arrived, I saw the refrigerator they were trying to give me and it looked dirty and used. I refused to accept it; they refused to give me a refund. I ended up calling the police because they were being so unreasonable. The police reached an agreement between us that they would deliver the refrigerator between 5 and 6pm on Friday (yesterday) or give me all of my money back by 10:30 am on Saturday. Currently, they have not delivered my fridge or refunded me the money.
