"Office staff was super helpful in getting this generator installed. And, on the day of installation, the technicians never took a break. At the same time, were very accommodating and and answered our questions fully. Great install. I would (and have) recommend Hurricane Homes."
"My technician was very knowledgeable and polite. He answered all of my questions and explained the installation process for my stove gas cutoff valve. I would highly recommend Calfo services."
"Don was able to run new wiring to the unfinished basement without disrupting the standing walls. He completed the project on time and charged the amount he had quoted. I liked his work and hired him to come back and install a new chandelier and another light fixture."

"These professionals were educated beyond the normal process of installing. They were able to think out of the box to make everything fit and work correctly. They were gentleman when answering questions and performed the work with skill and precision. They did not leave until job was completed. I could not have asked for a better crew to show up and do the job."
"Work included the installation of six LED light fixtures in the living room to be controlled by a dimmer switch, power to be supplied from an outlet that was previously split so one-half the outlet was controlled by a standard light switch. Started looking for an electrician in early November and used both Home Advisor and Angies List for leads. Jay (Miletti) came out and provided an estimate within a week of the call. With one other exception, the other electricians identified by Home Advisors and Angies List did not respond to the invitation, I guess they had too much work or the job was too small. I was able to solicit two additional electricians through word of mouth but their bids were considerably higher. I finally decided on Miletti in mid-January. I contacted Jay and he came out the next day to finalize the paperwork for the job. Five days later, Jay and his assistant were doing the work; prompt response. The job was not difficult but it did require experience to minimize the amount of damage to the walls and ceiling to run the wire. Jay and his partner, Jake, spent a total of about 18 hours (between the two of them) carefully running the wires to the penetrations where the fixtures were to be installed. Jake took care to install the cans with minimal gap so the fixture is unlikely to slip. In hindsight, I am glad they did the work since I probably would have been too impatient. In the end, they only needed two extra openings, one in the ceiling next to the wall and one in the wall to thread the wire; both were patched before they left. I have a little touch-up patching but I expected as much. They cleaned up nicely after their work. The job was finished the same day as they started and the results are completely satisfactory. Based on they pricing and the quality of their work, I intend to contact Miletti (Jay) when I require additional electrical work. Further, I would not hesitate to recommend Jay to my friends that may require electrical work. One other point, before they left, I asked for one of the boxes that the LED fixtures came in because the brand was not familiar, I shop at The Home Depot and Lowes. Jake told me that the fixture came from a local supplier in Elizabeth and that they try to support local businesses with their business. That might not mean much relative to the quality of their workmanship, but I do think that says something about their character."
"I hired Kloock's Electric to install a television antenna. They came out to do an estimate and we discussed equipment options. I decided on an antenna and amplifier and requested that they install the antenna strapped to a chimney. I received a quote for the work and equipment costs. They ordered the equipment and came out to install it when the equipment arrived. The install went well, and it was apparent that the installer had done this before. They were professional and courteous."
Generally, you’ll want to keep between 60 and 70 feet between the generator and the transfer switch. There are a few reasons for this, including:
The distance reduces the noise coming from the generator into your home.
It increases efficiency because you won’t have a voltage drop from this short of a distance.
Prevents carbon monoxide poisoning: keep at least 15 feet between your generator and an open window.
Most homeowners won't be able to claim a home generator as a tax write-off. However, a whole-house generator may be tax-deductible in certain situations depending on its purpose. For instance, if it's needed to power essential medical equipment, it may qualify as a medical expense deduction. Also, in some cases, businesses can deduct a generator as a business expense if it supports operations. Always consult a tax professional to determine eligibility based on your specific circumstances and the applicable IRS regulations.
Natural gas and electricity rates vary significantly based on location, and pricing can change over time, too. It’s possible that in locations where natural gas is particularly inexpensive, it will cost less than grid-based electricity will. However, you should also factor in the generator’s initial costs and maintenance needs, as well as its noise level and if it can comfortably power all your home appliances.
DIY is possible for basic setups. Professional installation ensures safe and proper electrical connections.
In some situations, yes. Never try to put biofuel into any home generator without checking the specifics first. If a generator has the ability to run on diesel, it can also run pure biofuel (the clear kind made from seed oils, for example). But if you are using biofuel made from animal fats or vegetable oils, the generator will need significant modifications before it can handle a sludgier type of biofuel.
