I provide many different services such as excavating and grading. If you need i pile of dirt leveled out, a swell cut in or need a foundation dug thats what i do. I also install french drains and other types of water drainage. I do lot clearing witch is either removing the brush or mulching/chipping on site. I do snow removal as well and the last thing i do is stone driveway repair and installation down to just fixing pot holes or putting in an entirely new driveway. Im an owner operator company and have been doing this type of work for 8 years

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

You can choose from various kinds of organic mulch and inorganic mulch. Organic mulch may be in the form of wood chips, pine needles, and compost and eventually decompose. Inorganic mulch, such as gravel, rocks, and landscape fabric, is more durable but doesn’t help the soil.

Using sand under stepping stones can be beneficial in certain situations. Sand can help level the ground and provide stability for the stepping stones, especially if the ground is uneven. It also allows for minor adjustments during the installation process. However, sand may not be the best choice for all environments. In areas with high foot traffic or heavy rain, sand may wash away or become displaced, leading to an uneven surface. In such cases, a more stable base material like gravel or crushed stone is preferable. Consider your specific landscape conditions before deciding whether to use sand under stepping stones.

If you hire a professional landscaper, you could expect to pay between $90 and $660 to install three cubic yards of river rock. (That’s based on the average river rock installation cost of $30 to $220 per cubic yard.) However, the exact price depends on the kind of river rock you choose. Crushed limestone and riprap are some of the more affordable options, while boulders and Arizona river rock are pricier.

Mid to late spring is the best time of year to mulch. If you do it too early in the spring, the mulch could slow down the warming process of the soil and affect how well plants grow. By mid to late spring the temperatures are usually steadying, making it an ideal time to spread mulch.

Stump grindings are usually safe to use in soil, but in some cases, it’s not recommended. Wood chips in particular can bind nitrogen in the soil, which will make it difficult for grass to grow. That’s why it’s important to remove most wood chips and use healthy garden soil if you want to cover the stump spot with grass. Large wood chips may attract beetles and could encourage the growth of fungi when they decay, so you may want to remove them when using the grindings.
