This is what happened on July 15, 2013. We had called this company over the previous weekend and and were told that their weekend rates were twice their normal rates. We spoke to someone who said that we would be charged $150 for a service call over the weekend. So we decided to take an appointment for Monday (it's supposed to be only $75 on a weekday) The company's website though says that there's no extra charge and that the rates are the same, weekend or not. That is not what we were told! We made an appointment for today, Monday, for an electrician to show up at our home between 9-11. We got a call around 9 am and were told that he'd be able to make it only around 10.00 am .We called back around 11:15 am since nobody showed up then were told that he would reach at 12:07 (don't know what the 7 minutes was for!). It's 12:30 pm now- still no electrician! Just called them and canceled the appointment finally- had to take time off work and stay at home for nothing- what a waste of half a day! Update:July 20, 2013 A representative from the the company called us back last week and apologized and asked if he could send someone over to take a look at the problem over the weekend and said that they would not charge us for the service call. We made an appointment for for 10.00 am today, Saturday. Unlike the last time, they called us at least 3 times before the actual date and confirmed the time. The electrician, Richard was here on time ( he was actually early!) assessed the situation and told us about the work that would be involved and how much it would cost us. He was very professional, knowledgeable and knew his job well. He had to spend 6 +hours here to take care of the issue. After he was done, he made sure that the work area was clean. Everything went well today. We ended up having to spend quite a bit of money ( a little over $1600) to fix the problem, but are happy with the way everything worked out. The ratings given above are based on today's work. Richard was fantastic and we were very happy with the service he provided. He was very courteous and friendly and knew what he was doing. Thomas Edison Electric has redeemed itself and we might even use their services again if required!

From my initial phone call to Thomas Edison Electric Inc to completion of service was approximately 3 hours. My call was answered by a very polite young lady who listened to my problem and her response was immediate. She gave me a probable time frame and asked if it was alright for my schedule and it was. A little while later a gentleman called to review my problem and confirm that it was indeed the issue of hard wired smoke alarms going off. In any event, the serviceman arrived, identified in uniform and name tag. He reviewed the problem, assessed the situation and expalined what he needed to do to correct and how long it would take and the price to repair. Everything went smoothly and I would not hesitate to recommend the service to anyone.

Thomas Edison electric did respond promptly and accessed the necessary work that needed to be done. They were able to rectify the problem in that the lights in the bathroom are working.

It was great! As stated, Eric Porter came on time, fully prepared to complete the job. We would ask questions, and he answered honestly. Finished the job in the time-frame he had given us (4 hours). His manners were impeccable! Explained what he was doing while he was doing the job. Labled the breakers, making sure that each breaker worked properly. He also check the outlets. Upon completion, he cleaned up his work area! It was very rewarding to find a company and electrician that was honest!

Joe was great. He dispatched a two licensed Master Electricians who came out the same day I called and got the job done. They cleaned up after themselves. Our business was not disrupted as the electricians came in after hours.

This review is written to express my appreciation of your electrician's skilled and efficient performance and workmanship in replacing the electrical unit (circuit breaker board) in my basement. This disaster could have resulted in a fire. You are fortunate to have him as an employee and I would recommend him highly. Several of my neighbors plan to call on your company if they need to have any electrical work done.

I wanted to write a review regarding our brief phone conversation about the emergency electric service we received from Guy approximately a week and a half ago. My wife and I are relatively new homeowners in PA. Not having any electric background, when our lighting fixture in our stairwell shorted out at 10:30 pm we had to find an electrician quick. We called your service and within an hour, Guy was at our house. Having dealt with a few electricians in the past, we expected the same service - in quick, with little chat, job done with little explanation, and leave. Needless to say we got much more. Guy, after explaining our situation as new homeowners, etc, took the time to explain the problem to us (which turned out to be a bit uglier than we had thought), show us the problem, explain to us how it came about, walked us through potential areas to watch out for in the future, allowed me to watch over his shoulder the entire time he was here to better understand what he was doing, etc. He even helped me label the entire breaker box. Again, this was in the middle of the night. He never complained, he was very careful not to wake our 3 year old who was sleeping in the room next to the light, and he treated my wife and me with the utmost respect. Granted, it is our hope we do not need an electrician's services in the near future, but if we do, we will never use another electrician.

I want to thank you and your team for the installation of a new circuit breaker panel at on my floor. I was very impressed on how quickly you were able to send your team. They found the problem very quickly and the installation was done in record time. My thanks to Scott and Scott for taking care of this project in a friendly and courteous manner.

The evening of June 9th the lights in my living room started flickering off and on and upon inspection I found the breaker box singed and still sparking. I quickly called a couple of companies and yours was the first to responded. Not only did you respond, your person on the phone talked me through what to do for safety and that he could have a man there within the hour. When your master electrician arrived, I think his name was Guy, he assessed the situation quickly, provided some recommendations and cost options. Once we agreed to a price, he worked extremely hard rectifying our problem and based on his recommendations installed switches and lights in the basement that made it easier and safer to work down there in the future. There is no doubt had I not gotten a hold of you so quickly my house could have burned down . Guy (I apologize, I cannot remember his last name) showed my wife and I how the breaker box had been rigged by the previous owner and explained what he was doing to fix it to bring the house up to code. He worked long into the night and came back the next day to finish the job in working conditions that were less than favorable. I will not hesitate to recommend your company and Guy in particular to our friends and neighbors. Thank you and please thank Guy for a job well done

My husband and I recently purchased a 20 year old home that needed some repair work. Thomas Edison Electric is one of the companies that we hired. Everything from having an old intercom system removed, new lighting fixtures mounted, and new light switches and plugs installed was done with great care. A few days after the work was completed, I noticed that all of the plugs and light switches had been mounted with each screw in an exact vertical position (where the screwdriver is placed). Now that might be a strange thing to mention but it does illustrate the "attention to detail" that the Thomas Edison Electric electricians performed - without exception - to all electrical work done in our home. We were really impressed! I would definitely use this company again in the future.

We experienced a complete power failure. We contacted our regular electrician and were unable to reach him for this emergency. The manager of the learning center found your company in the phone book, and selected you because of being and ldquo;family ownedand rdquo;. The person who took the call was very polite and stated she would dispatch a technician as soon as possible. Scott responded to our call and proceeded to assess what was the cause of the power outage. As the time went forward, Scott was exceptionally polite and knowledgeable. He determined that the problem was with the main underground power cable. Scott gave us the possible options in order to remedy the problem, determined the cost and suggested the best option. With his professional knowledge and hard work, and with the safety of the children and staff of the learning center always in mind, he was able to complete the needed repairs.

Regarding the work your company did repairing the electric problem in our home, excellent job and thank you very much. When I saw the $625.00 total on the July 1 invoice, I was a little unhappy, I must admit, because the problem wasn't solved. But the fact that you sent two guys out last week and they promptly repaired the problem at no charge changes all that. I'm adding your company and its phone number to our neighborhood's preferred provider list, and we have 76 homes. Thanks again!

The purpose of this note is to comment on both the quality and personal attention provided to me by Guy during major electrical work done at my home on August 1. Over the years, I have experienced dozens of repair and service contractors performing work in my home, yet none compared to the efforts of Guy during replacement of my fuse box. He exhibited obvious experience and a fantastic work effort. I have already recommended him to my two daughters, who own homes, and will continue to do so with others over time. I have never written a review like this before, yet know it was warranted in this case.
