"The toilet on the first floor was leaking and they did a terrific job with that. They fixed that and the one on the second floor, they'd had to replace some parts which they did that and that was working fine. everything they did was excellent."

"I contracted Bassett Home to update my 60 year old kichen. Bassett's did a fantastic job of refacing my existing cabinets that my father had built. Overall, vinyl isn’t as durable as linoleum, but it performs best in areas with high levels of moisture. Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) or luxury flooring tile (LVT) has added durability with just a slightly higher price tag. 

Vinyl floors last between 10 and 25 years on average when you care for them and protect them against water damage, though higher-quality vinyl can last longer.

If your vinyl flooring has heavy wear and tear or if it's peeling, it's a good time to do a reinstallation. Other signs your flooring is nearing the end of its lifespan include bubbling, heat-damaged planks or tiles, and discoloration.

The average cost to install hardwood flooring is $4,700. While this is more than double the average cost of installing a new carpet and removing your old one, it has some significant advantages. Hardwood flooring might not be as cozy or soundproofing as carpets, but it's lower maintenance and way more durable. With the right care, hardwood floors can last a lifetime, whereas the average lifespan of a carpet is 10 years.

If you also need to know how to fill the gap between the floor and the baseboard, it's best to use a flexible, paintable latex caulk. Clean the area thoroughly to remove dust and debris. Then, apply a smooth bead of caulk along the gap using a caulking gun, and use a caulk-smoothing tool to press and smooth it into place. If the gap is large, you may need to insert backer rod, such as a foam filler, before caulking. Once dry, paint the caulk to match the baseboard for a clean, seamless look.

Laminate flooring takes about 24 to 48  hours to settle. Before this, planks are not completely acclimated to your home, and walking on them could cause shifting and permanent damage to the flooring. You should allow floorboards to acclimate for 48 to 72 hours before installing so that they can adjust to your home’s humidity and temperature levels, but they will continue to acclimate and settle after installation. For this reason, avoid placing any furniture in the room for 72 hours after installation.

Your floors will continue to settle for a few months after installation, becoming less bouncy as they rest.
