"Darin assembled a full size Murphy bed and cabinet that we had purchased from Home Depot. It was a complicated assembly and Darin’s skills and experience were just what we needed to get it right. He is professional, hardworking, and conscientious. I highly recommend him and will hire him again."

"They responded to my initial request quickly, as well as to any questions that came up during the project. I found them easy to talk to. We had one issue with a vendor. They didn't try to duck the issue. Their attitude was 'we'll do the best we can to make it right', which we were able to do. They listened very well and offered alternatives without being pushy about it. The quality of workmanship was completely satisfactory. Their prices were reasonable. They provided an itemized bill along with all of the detailed paperwork; receipts and labor hours. They finished the project on time and well within the original range of the estimate. Everything they repaired or fixed is working well without issues. I know that if any issues or questions do arise, they will be there to handle it."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

No, shock and chlorine are not the same thing, though they are related and both are used for pool maintenance. Regular chlorine, often in the form of tablets, is a sanitizer used for routine, day-to-day maintenance to keep a steady chlorine level. Pool shock, however, is a highly concentrated dose of chlorine used periodically for a more intense cleaning. It rapidly raises chlorine levels to fix issues like cloudy water or algae growth and also eliminates chloramines, which are byproducts of regular chlorination. Because their purposes and concentrations differ, they are not interchangeable, and proper pool care typically requires using both.

There are some disadvantages to a salt water pool. Besides costing slightly more than chlorine pools, salt water pools require a lot of salt. It's also harder to find a professional with salt water pool experience to do minor maintenance and repairs. Salt water can also damage some materials, so you’ll need to use specific heating, fixtures, lighting, liners, and masonry when building a salt water pool.

You should always run your pool pump in freezing weather to keep the water moving. Doing so prevents the pool water from freezing and protects your pool from the damage that often comes along with frozen water. You should also run your pool pump when temperatures are approaching freezing, as a precaution. There’s no need to run a pool heater during the winter, as keeping water moving is generally enough to keep it from freezing.

Losing some water from splashing and evaporation is normal. However, if you notice a rapid drop in the water level or are adding water more frequently than usual, you might have a leak. Other common signs of a pool leak include:

  • Unexplained soft, mushy, or wet spots in the yard.

  • Cracks in the pool's structure or falling tiles.

  • Higher-than-normal water bills.

  • Persistent algae growth or water discoloration.

  • Standing water near the pump, pipes, or other pool equipment.

Yes, too much chlorine can make your pool cloudy, especially after you have recently shocked it. However, low chlorine levels are a more common cause of cloudy water. An imbalance in pH or an excess of any chemical can also lead to cloudiness. To determine the specific cause, you should test your pool water to check the levels of chlorine, pH, and other chemicals. Regular maintenance is essential for keeping your pool clean and clear.
