Don was very quick to respond back - I read lots of reviews that said he was good about coming to your house and checking out the problem and whether or not it was a professional or home owner level job with a no cost estimate/inspection. I was on the fence if my project needed that and this is a big part of why I selected (plus many positive reviews). True to his previous positive reviews Don came over quickly, great on phone, and treated it like a "home inspection". Very professional. Spent a solid 30-45 minutes looking at problem areas and was very happy to share information and educate me on how to solve issues. 2/3 areas in my house were able to be solved by me with a little grunt work and dehumidifier. The bigger problem he recommended professional remediation - I completely agreed with his determination. I also believe he would have told me if I hadn't needed his service. Seems to enjoy his job and helping you the homeowner. Don had some neat tools to show me where problem areas were - heck he even noticed my electrical panel was putting out out more heat then it should and recommended I get an electrician to check it out. We may have a short or wiring problem that we wouldn't have known about so nice catch! Final same day inspection report was very detailed and specific to my house - I wish my home inspector had done such a nice job. Good communication via phone, in person, and e-mail throughout. One of Don's crew came out within a few days when I was available and took care of all the work within about a half day. I was informed the whole process. Crew was also very nice and professional. I prepped the areas by removing some bathroom items to save a few bucks instead of his crew doing it. If I had to nitpick or offer a "CON" I would say the job wasn't cheap but I don't think he overcharged or anything. I think the job was just larger and that's what it cost (about $2900). Like any new home owner who the heck wants to drop 3k? Based on previous reviews Don's prices seemed comparable to other mold professionals but I did not personally check as I was sold on having him and trusted previous reviewers had done their price comparisons. The job itself involved a laundry room, a bathroom, a furnace area, and garage (they all shared common walls). Removal of big sections of drywall and insulation and flooring. Job site was left clean and wastes removed. Word to the buyer - Don was very open about this - they are not professional contractors so if they tear areas up either you or another service will have to restore. Not a bad thing just something my wife was surprised about (I was not cause I read previous reviews). Highly recommend Don and would use again.

Service was informative, professional, and easy to work with at every step of the process. After the initial inspection, we scheduled a date & time to perform remediation; when an earlier date became available, they helpfully offered to reschedule to that date. The remediation went smoothly and passed follow-up testing. Very pleased with the overall quality of work.

Don was very responsive and friendly. He responded to my messages quickly and arrived right on time for the inspection appointment. After reviewing some mold on the drywall in my garage caused by a refrigerator, he explained that it could easily be dealt with and removed with basic household cleaners. He also inspected my attic for any potential issues due to a formerly leaking roof. Luckily he didn't find any issues, but gave some good advice on how to keep things from becoming an issue. I greatly appreciate the honest assessment and would definitely recommend this company to anyone that thinks they may have a mold issue. At the very least, you will get an honest and fair assessment of the situation.

Don was awesome. As mentioned above, he was very responsive. When we did speak, he truly seemed to have my interest in mind and I never once had the sense that he might try to sell me something that I didn't really need. While we fortunately didn't need his service, I would highly recommend him on my personal interactions with him.

Don was great. He was easy to schedule And was honest, on time, thorough and courteous. He uncovered issues that were serious and needed to be aware of prior to purchase. His report was thorough. The home inspector agreed with his findings but Don was able to go into greater detail due to his experience. I will recommend him highly! My realtor did not expect him to find any issues but I insisted to have an inspection since we have very reactive mold allergies. So glad we did. Thank you Don!

Air Tech provide mold testing following mold remediation by another company. Air Tech was prompt, pleasant and professional. Don also seemed very eager to be helpful, and his explanation of his services and findings were just that.

Don was an absolute pro! He arrived early and was very friendly. He surveyed our basement, which I thought could have a major mold situation due to moisture; He then told me that we actually did not have a major problem that would require any of his services and that what I was seeing could be remedied on my own. He explained everything clearly and also explained the steps we needed to take to prevent any moisture or mold in the future. He advised us to keep in touch if we needed anything else or had any questions about what products to buy to do the job. At the end, after I asked how much the charge was to come out, inspect, and consult, he told me "no charge, it was just an estimate". In this day and age, that blew me away. I would highly, highly recommend Don to anyone in need of his services.

Don arrived when we agreed. He was professional and personable. He took his time inspecting and explaining things as he went along with the inspection. He didn't find any mold issues and, even though he drove a distance to get to my place, he did not charge me for the inspection.

We had a pretty bad mold situation in the basement...what I thought was confined to a small closet at the bottom of the stairs was actually spread throughout the entire basement and adjoinging rooms, infecting the paneling, ceiling tiles, etc. Before calling Don I had three other mold remediation companies in for assessments and estimates. Each company confirmed that the mold was spread all over and the basement needed a fair amount of demolition. I only received an estimate from one of the three. The company I received the estimate from (they are also on Angies List, BTW) seemed like they knew what they were doing but I was left with the feeling that the remediators were (nice enough) young guys who merely worked for a company rather than truly understanding the mold problem. I have to say this mold problem was the reason I joined Angies List, because I was so disheartened with what I saw in terms of professionalism and knowledge of the business. I saw Air Tech Environmental was #1 on Angies List and gave it a shot and called Don. When I first explained the situation in the basement, he was on the phone with me for roughly 20 minutes telling me all about mold; why it grows, how it grows, and how to control it. I learned so much talking to him that even before he came for the estimate I was confident I would hire him. He came the following week and did not disappoint. He provided me with a clear, consise estimate that detailed every inch of the basement. He told me what to do in terms of cleaning my stuff in the basement. He told me how to prevent future mold by running dehumidifiers and told me how to run them, where to put them, for how long, etc. Also, Don's estimate came in UNDER the original quote I received from the first company. I was totally shocked and elated. The remediation went extremely well. The job was completed in the alloted time and the remediators cleaned up beautifully when they were done even though the dumpster was in a carport somewhat far from my house. There was not one scrap of anything anywhere and the whole area was swept and totally cleaned up despite having been gutted. In fact, we had an ugly hole in the drywall of our laundry room where a plummer blasted through to get to a leaking pipe. The remediator cleaned up the hole and made it a nice, neat square that literally looks 1000xs better.This is the type of company you are dealing with in Air Tech Enviromental. Class act, all of the way, exhibiting the utmost professionalism, knowledgability and honesty. The best company we have ever dealt with, for any reason, hands down. HIGHLY recommend!

After purchasing a new home, my husband and I found something in the basement ceiling that we thought was mold. The technician came out, looked at all of the areas of concern, and pointed a few out himself. He found some black mold and told me I could clean that easily with bleach and water. He was very informative, helpful, and professional. And, instead of making an easy buck by taking advantage of my overreaction, he simply explained my situation and told me how to take care if it myself (bleach is a lot cheaper than professional service).

Don Culp was thorough, courteous, and highly professional. His mold removal services are the type of service folks wouldn't want to have a need for, but given the experience we had with Don on an inspection, I would highly recommend him based upon his knowledge, experience, and integrity.

Don arrived on time and got straight to work. He explained everything to us using terms appropriate to non-mold professionals, and although I could see he repeats this information constantly, to probably every customer, he didn't at all seem like he was just going through the motions - he was informing us because he wanted us to understand the process. He told us all about his process, his team, and what we had to do to keep the basement mold-free in the future. He was very careful, in his report and in person, to specify what he does (mold removal), vs. what he does not do (mold abatement, reconstruction of damaged areas, etc.).

This company was/is a life saver for me. Don is an awesome guy and this is one of a few, if not the only expert mold remediation company that will actually provide you with a free estimate and consultation. I contacted them because I was in a bind. I needed someone who could help me with an unfortunate situation with mold and provide me documentation and be willing to speak to their findings for purposes of reimbursement for services. Not only that, but I had contacted 3 other mold remediation companies and two of them charged me for estimates that they never provided me and the third would not give me an estimate for just mold remediation but was adamant about including restoration services to the estimate. I explained my situation to Don and he gladly accommodated my requests and promised to assist me in the future with anything I need. He made time for me in his obviously busy schedule and carefully looked over the mold and the damages and told me his expert opinions. He even told me how to treat the mold myself and dismissed several of the scare tactics the other contractors used on me in an effort to increase the price and pressure me into scheduling. Don quickly provided me with a estimate and highly detailed report on his findings and what was needed to treat the current mold and prevent future mold growth as well as preventative maintenance and steps home owners should take. AirTech Environmental appears to be a well established and reputable company and one consultation with Don and you will understand why. They obviously know what they are talking about and their business is built on honesty and integrity. I will definitely recommend them and will be in touch with them in the future if I should need their services!

The overall experience with Don Culp and his staff was excellent. Upon noticing mold discoloration on the attic ceiling, we contacted Don through Angie's List. He returned the call within hours. He assessed the situation within a couple of days. Shortly after, the specialist arrived at our home and treated the area. Two days later an independent air specialist tested the air quality in the attic. The results showed that no mold problems existed. We were extremely pleased with our experience with AIR TECH ENVIRONMENTAL. Don Culp is a true professional. The entire experience progressed seamlessly. Don answers every phone call and email very promptly. He and his staff are extremely professional. I would highly recommend him for any mold issue. I believe he is an honest and trustworthy individual who strives to provide the best service possible.

I am very satisfied with the service that I received from Don Culp of Air Tech Environmental and his crew. The home inspection was scheduled within a couple of days of the initial call. We talked about the mold that was in the basement (in a closet underneath the porch, and along the bottom of three walls). Don explained the remediation process in detail; how to get ready for the remediation; and what to do to help prevent new mold growth in the future. I received the promised, detailed, email report with his quote, the same day. Don and his crew are prompt and expert at what they do; professional; and trust worthy. I left my home during the remediation process, confident that my home was in good hands. Also, I appreciated the timely and helpful response to my questions. I would recommend their service; and hire them, again, in the future if needed.

Don basically informed us that we did not need to spend over $250 for mold inspection from another company or with himself for that matter. Our affected area did not require a test and he could have made an easy couple hundred bucks by selling us something we had no idea we didn't need, but he didn't. He is totally honest and represents everything good with home service men. I would not hesitate to call him in the future for anything relating to mold.

Excellent! Don was quick to point out mold areas areas that a major competitor overlooked. His experience in recognizing mold sources and his approach in treating the mold is top notch. Don worked with our difficult schedule and went out of his way to accommodate our needs. He and his crew were always polite and friendly. We were pleased with the service and the results.

Almost immediately after submitting my request via email (from the company's website), I received a lengthy response from Don providing details and information on how it's actually not necessary to engage his business as this is something that can be handled myself. I think he went above and beyond to explain mold and mildew, different types of paints, etc. to me and really put my mind at ease and I greatly appreciate it. I will be trying his solutions/suggestions on my own but will definitely use in him in the future should the need arise (hopefully not!) and I absolutely recommend his services to others.

I was told by a home inspector that the basement had suspected mold. He said he would charge $450 to do an air sample. If the sample said it was mold I needed to have it remediated, at my cost, then he would come back for another air sample for another $450 . I didn't want to pay for all these air samples so I called Don Culp and we talked on the phone. He came out and visually inspected the area and could only find a small amount mold in a corner of the basement and a very small area on some cabinetry. He told me how to clean it myself and paint with anti-fungal paint and how to move the dehumidifier around the room to get the moisture out. All this and he didn't even charge a fee to look at the basement!!!! The home inspector said there was mold in the rafters. Don said it was just efflorescence and dirt. Imagine that. Don is terrific and I would recommend him to anyone. He's not out to make a buck, just to service his clients. Thanks so much, Don.

Don and my husband went down into the basement and Don talked to him about all the issue that we had with the space. In the end Don believed that there was not enough mold/mildew to have professional take care of the problem.. he got my e-mail address and said that he would e-mail us with step by step instructions on what to buy and how to fix the mold/mildew we have. I thank Don for his time!! I was so nice to have someone come out and not try to sell me something that I don't need.. I will keep his card handy and recommend hi highly to anyone in need of this service .. and if ever a time that I may need it I will call on him!! THANKS DON!!

Don Culp arrived at the scheduled time and conducted an inspection of the basement and other areas of concern. The results were negative. Don gave some tips on how to recognize mold and where the most likely places it would grow. He also talked about the difference between mold and mildew and painting methods to stop mildew. I was very impressed with his knowledge. Would highly recommend Don.

Don made time in his very busy schedule to assess my home (basement) for mold. I noticed stuff on the joists and subfloor that looked like mold. I've also been having trouble w breathing (I've asthma and react to mold) and was told by another company that this was mold growth. Since the first mold inspector did not follow up with a report/estimate, I had to find another one. I'm so glad I did! AIrTech/Don inspected while I observed. He showed me what was and was not mold. He was very informative, answered my many questions, came upstairs to give expert advice on a damp wall in a bedroom that had resisted multiple repairs. Don also came into my attic space and was helpful in answering questions related to knocking out a wall while controlling any mold that would be released. I cannot say enough about Don. He is a very pleasant person, helpful, knowledgeable, experienced and prompt.I recieved a report only hours later with detailed information about how to remediate the mold and how to prevent any growth in the future. He concluded that there was not enough mold for professional intervention. How honest is that?! I'm so impressed. I would have hired him to remediate if he had said it was mold. To add icing on the cake, I'm allergic to mold, and his clean up advice took that into consideration. Thank you Air Tech and Don for honest, informative service. It is refreshing to encounter ethical business practice.

Don was very much a pleasure to work with. Based on my interactions with him, he is a very kind and genuine person. He truly seemed to appreciate the opportunity to first give me an estimate (which was free) and perform the necessary work. Bill did the actual remediation work for us. He arrived right on time and locked the house up as instructed when he was done with the work (we had to leave the property from 10AM-4PM that day). He did a very nice job, per the subsequent testing (done by a 3rd party which is nice!) which showed we no longer have a mold issue. Overall we were very happy with the work done by Air Tech and felt they have fair prices and are very professional. If we have any future mold issues, we will definitely call Air Tech again. Now updating to add - I asked Don a subsequent question about mold we found in another area of the house. He (very promptly) responded with instructions about how we can remedy the situation on our own (I had sent a photo and asked if professional cleaning was required. I very much appreciate the honesty that this was a job we could do on our own). Yet again, I am impressed by Air Tech!!!

After three days of heavy rains we noticed the carpeting in the basement was wet. After removing some of the paneling we found what we thought was mold. We called Air Tech and Don came to our house on a Saturday morning to evaluate the situation. He explained to us that there was not a real mold problem, everything we thought was mold was mostly water staining. He then instructed us on how to remove and clean all of this and ways to keep the moisture out of the basement. All of this was free of charge. I would recommend this company for anyone who has any issues with mold.
