I have to give Home Depot a low score. I purchased carpet from them and they installed the carpet using another organization. The carpet installers arrived on time and the day they promised. . . unlike the last Home Depot service we used (appliance delivery). The home depot salesman told us that the installers would move up to 6 pieces of furniture for $50. We decided to pay $100 to move 12 pieces. He failed to tell us that it was PER ROOM, not per six pieces of furniture. The installers were not happy and were on the telephone with their bosses. Next, we were to remove carpet from the upstairs and we reiterated to the salesman that the installer would need to remove it from the basement. This was NOT on the work order and prompted another call from them to their boss. Moments later we received a call from a Home Depot manager and got everything taken care of. After the installers left, we discovered a hall closet was not done. We decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and we would just paint it. However, we had issues with a few tack strips and the installer came out 3 days later to make the adjustments. I asked him about the closet and he told me it was NOT on the work order, that is why it wasn't done. Ugh! The sales associate totally screwed things up and added to our stress. This is the second significant error made by home depot or their contractors in the last six months (carpet install and appliance delivery). The managers did step up to the plate, but if work orders cannot be done correctly and outsourced work (deliveries) can't be made on days promised, then don't. Update: We found more carpet issues: Spoke with the installer American Carpet South, Inc and they were supposed to come out twice and cancelled. I am sure they are holding out that we forget or get to tired to follow-up.

Two plumbers came to do the job they came in said that this job does not take long which was a red flag for me. They told me that pressure valve was not working and I agreed for them to replace it for an upcharge. They also said that I needed a pressure relief tank for the water heater which I agreed. I went down to check to see if their was any leeks and I found out that two clams were completely lose and that is a toxic gas like carbon dioxide which can kill you and the clamps were not tight. I called them that day and they said you are exactly right and I apologized that I did not tighten them . I told him that I can tighten it myself. Then about five days after they did the work I would turn on the water it sounded like crew ship was docking in front of my house. I called them and told them about the issue and the guys said to me it was the pressure relief valve. He told me that they were a bunch of those that were defective and they need to come out and replace it.
Description of Work: They put in a water heater.

Description of Work: In May of 2012 I purchased a Ryobi grass trimmer for $129.00. The unit has a three year manufacturer's warranty. I also agreed to purchase the two year replacement warranty from home depot for an additional $17. The trimmer worked until this Spring when it would not start. I took it to HD for repair. The lady was very nice. She informed me the unit would be sent to Atlanta and it would take up to two months to return. She suggested I take it to either the Hanover store or the York store because they have an actual repair facility in house. I told her I would think it over. After deciding not to take it to either place, I purchased another grass trimmer (Husquevarna) at another store since the one I had was of no use to me. I decided to let Home Depot send the broken Ryobi to Atlanta for repair and went back to the store. I was then told I needed to sign an authorization form for up to $100 in repair costs. Explaining to the return counter supervisor that i had no intention of putting any more money into this item, I was told we could 'cross that part out' and see what happens. I do not have a good feeling about this. The bottom line is, Home Depot would not honor their replacement warranty until the original manufacturers three year warranty runs out. They have no local repair facility, and I am at the mercy of a technician in Georgia as to whether they will agree to fix the unit, which is under at least two warranties, for no charge. So I am stuck with a trimmer that does not run, and I need to store it for two more years so I can have it replaced under the replacement warranty Home Depot sold me. I have had good experience with Home Depot over the years, but I will not be purchasing anything with an engine or a motor from them in the future. An extended warranty should protect people from this sort of thing.

I was looking for a specific high-efficiency model and Home Depot had a free delivery at that time. My daughter was in a second-floor apartment, so that worked out nice. I actually ordered directly online. She was going to Millersville University, so they shipped it from the Lancaster Home Depot to her apartment.
Description of Work: Two years ago, I bought a refrigerator from Home Depot Inc. It was a small unit for my daughter's apartment for college. When she was done with college, we brought it here to put in the garage next to fridge.
