"Owner showed up with a small crew and a crazy new piece of equipment. Excavated down below my foundation and to the septic tank. Came into the basement and jackhammered the floor. Removed all the old terracotta pipe inside and out. Installed all new PVC pipe all the way down to the septic tank. Put gravel down to protect the new pipe. Poured concrete in the basement to close the floor back up. Only took one day to get the new pipe in. Came back the next to close the ground and floor up. Great experience, basement no longer smell like sewage."

"My backyard hill was sliding by the ton. Over the course of three years, 200 yards of hill was displaced due to the poor drainage and extensive rainfall. Over the course of three years, over ten contractors visited me and provided solutions. NONE OF THEM followed through. On a whim and in desperation, I contacted Mullen Excavating Inc. Kevin Mullen, the owner of company, responded to my call almost immediately. Two days later, he stopped by to evaluate my dire situation. And his ideas were completely opposite of everyone else. Instead of a retaining wall, he advised me to repair the hill. After research, we chose the repair route. Then we patiently waited for five months for warmer and drier weather. Kevin never rushed me for the project. But when the project startedâ ¦ my gosh, it was a well-oiled machine, a BIG HONKING Caterpillar machine. Over the course of two weeks, Kevin and his team removed over 200 yards of fill and top soil, installed three gigantic underground french drains, repaired the water runoff pipes and then completely rebuilt/ regraded my hill, complete w/ grass seed and hatch. A true sight to behold. Throughout the whole process, Kevin remained a calming presence even when the work stopped for three days because of rain. In the end, we got our hill back!! My sincere thanks to Kevin and his team. Kevin seems to be a natural when it comes to excavation work, if that it is a thing. In any case, I highly recommend Mullen Excavating Inc."

"I've known Ed for years and he's always been a professional and upstanding guy. When getting a quote I just met his business partner Chevy, he knows his stuff about concrete with over a decade in the industry. Together they make a great team. We have done remodeling and construction for years and we knew exactly what we wanted and told them our plans and showed them the layouts. With a few suggestions and tweaks on their end, it was a fast easy project when we all worked together. Upstanding guys and a great price. "I hired Zach to install a french drain, to plant some trees, and to install a rock bed at the edge of my property. Zach and crew were very timely and pleasant, and the price was right. But after completion i noticed some minor property damage, and some minor issues with the quality of work and cleanup. I'm a reasonable guy and sent Zach a text letting him know my thoughts, hoping to have a direct convo about it. However, I have not heard back from him at all. Hate to not leave 5 stars, but a little extra customer service would have gone a long way here. Here is that text: Hey Zach, just completed the final invoice. Apologies it took me a few days, we were camping with no cell service until yesterday. I wanted to let you know since i believe in constructive feedback, I'm not happy with some of the work done. My fence post was ran into and dented. I'll try to use a crowbar to repair but if that does not work i'll have to order a replacement & install. A bunch of the trees are planted at a pretty strong 30 degree angle instead of being upright. I'll straighten these out. There are still lots of big rocks in the lawn where the rock pile was. I'll take 30 minutes to clean it up. I know it rained heavily after the fresh soil / seed was planted, but some straw would have gone a long way to keep it in place. I'll have to re rake and seed and straw everything. Some of these are small things, but they leave a bad impression, and I wish your team would have just been upfront with me about the bent fence post."
