"I have never dealt with a more unprofessional business. They sent out 2 separate guys, both broke off pieces of equipment in our drain and were not able to retrieve them. We now have 3 pieces of snake in our drain and keep getting bills in the mail. I've called multiple times to try to resolve this only to be called a liar and asked how I want to pay. RotoRooter has made no attempt to fix the situation by removing the equipment from our drain, which will likely cause more problems in the future. This company has a lot of turnover and very minimal training. One of their employees recommended we call EconoRooter because they are more experienced and have better tools to complete the job. That would be my recommendation as well."

"Hired them for a basic residential addition foundation job and they completely screwed up every step of the process. They don’t know how to read plans or pour straight out flat foundations. They don’t pay their subs which is coming back on us now. They won't respond to any communications. A lien has now been filed on the project because of their lack of payment. Shocked at their ineptitude. Very friendly people, but they should not be construction business owners."

Regardless of the drain cleaner type you choose to use, they all work through chemical reactions that create heat. You can use a non-motorized one, but a motorized snake will make the job a little easier. Feed the snake through the pipe until it reaches the clog. Spin the snake continuously, but don’t try to feed it through the pipe anymore. Keep spinning until you feel it break the clog apart.

With a one-way cleanout, you can access your sewer line from one direction. Depending on the way it curves, a plumber can either access the side of the pipe that goes into your home or the side that goes to your yard. On the other hand, two-way cleanouts allow pros to access both sides of the sewer line, thanks to their dual-pipe design (they’re usually U-shaped).

Snakes can occasionally enter homes through shower drains, although it’s quite rare. This can happen when they follow sewer pipes or accidentally find their way into plumbing systems. To minimize the risk, consider installing drain covers or stoppers on your shower drains. Always keep drains closed when they’re not in use, especially in areas where snakes are known to be active.
