One of the most sought-after benefits of stamped concrete is the customization aspect—you get to choose the color, borders, and intricate patterns. On the other hand, stamped concrete needs to be resealed every two to three years and costs more than regular concrete to install. And unless you’re a DIY pro, this is not a project to tackle on your own.

In most cases, you are good to stamp the concrete one or two hours after you pour it, but perform the thumb test mentioned above. You want the concrete to be dry enough so the stamps don’t sink, but wet enough that the stamps make a successful imprint.
