I was here all day with them. They just finished the work. The inspector was here today and he said that they did great work. I would give them high ratings. It cost us a lot, but it wasn’t too bad. It was over $2700. They were out here when they said they would be here. They kept me informed. They were very polite. I never saw them stop working and I never saw them fool around or take breaks. They took the time to explain the process to me. They told me what our obligations were and what their obligations were. They took the time on both the days to let us know what was left over and what they needed from us as far as labeling outlets. They were really professional. We didn’t do much price comparison, but I don’t think we quibbled about the price at all. We would use their services in the future too.

excellent Randy Frost came estimated was hired for a 4 stage process. Kurt completed ALL the work each phase he was polite professional and ON TIME! Anne the office manager worked within my schedule which had to be changed often without complaints. I will ONLY use them when my bathroom will be remodeled! Great team of professionals.

Called three firms. ABC was the first to respong ie the next day. Of the three bids ABC was the winner for obvious reasons. t ABC was a dream to deal wilth. All calls were on time and the tech meticulous in the work and in dcleaning ujp after the work day. I feel sfer4 now knowing the worn out wiring is gone.

I had done something stupid. I had basically turned off all the power in the house and could not get the breakers to go back to the way that they should be as there was a little trick to it. They were new type of breakers that nobody that I knew was even familiar with. They were here five minutes but they were very good. I learnt something new. They were here immediately which was nice. They were prompt and fair. It was my fault. I would use them again in the future. They told me everything upfront. They told me right up about the price. They were absolutely responsive. The people that lived before thought that they had a problem with their electrical system because anytime that they plugged in anything there, it would break. However, it was a funky new breaker that they were required to put in.

They have been here twice in the last year. They have always been very knowledgeable and they work quickly. Their service went very well from start to finish. Their last application was more of an unusual one; it was more of a creative one. The wireless switch is increasingly being used by people like us who have a really old home and cannot put wires to the ceiling or to the chandelier that used to be gas or had a pull on it. There isn't a way to put in a wall switch and that would have required them to go up and dig into the ceiling too much. They figured out how to put a wireless switch on the wall that uses radio waves. It was the only solution that we could come up with. We have used them several times in the past and we will use them again in the future.

This was the first time we used any electrician in Portland. We had bad experiences in the past, and got three bids for the job. ABC was not the cheapest, but its bid was the most thorough so there would be no surprises down the road. Adam did a fantastic job with how he laid out the outlets and service panel for the hot tub. He installed the timer inside the garage next to the main service panel so it wouldn't be affected by bad weather. They gave us the option to dig the three foot trench for the outlet in the garden, which saved us time charged which in turn saved us money. Adam's work was professional and efficient. The final bill came in right on the bid amount, and he cleaned up everything after finishing the job on time. We definitely would recommend ABC Electric to anyone who needed any level of electrical service.

We've used ABC Electric several times over the last five years. The first three times we got three bids for each job. Every time, ABC was not the cheapest, but the bid they submitted was extremely comprehensive, so we knew there wouldn't be any surprises. The last few times we've used them (both at our rental house and our home) we haven't even gotten other bids, because we know they are ethical and the quality of their work. Each job is done exactly as originally scoped, the work is neat (ever seen a badly wired service panel?!), and the electricians are professional, They take the time to do a good job, but don't milk the clock. There have been times when we thought we needed one thing and they've come back and suggested something different, always with the thought process explained and options to choose from. The price has never varied, except in those instances when I've come up with added items over and above the bid! We would (and have) highly recommended ABC Electric to co-workers and friends. Those people who we have referred to ABC Electric have been extremely impressed with their work ethic, efficiency, and quality of work.

They were prompt and professional. They worked very cooperatively with us.

I was very happy with the work done and the cost of the project. I would have them do any electrical work for me in the future. The electrician that did the work is Steve Gonzales. He was very professional and knowledgable.

Found this company on Angies List, and they did an excellent job in providing an estimate, putting me quickly into their schedule, and completing the work

A nice, professional gentleman arrived on time and gave us an estimate for wiring to our hot tub. He also informed us of the depth at which the wiring would need to be buried and that we could do it ourselves or hire it out or have them do it. This estimate was prior to 2009 by a couple of years. When I needed to know the estimate figures again in 2009, I contacted him and he had saved the original estimate in his files, which was helpful. We still have not used their services due to the expense, but if we decide to do that wiring, we will definitely have them do it.

electrician arrived a little late but did a great job. Reasonable price, professional installation, and creative but sound solutions. I like this company and would use them again.

I called to get a bid and Randy came out and spoke with my husband. I ended up getting another bid a few months later, also from Randy, because I realized I wanted to speak with the estimator myself, and because I changed the scope of the work. ABC was very patient with me and scheduled Randy to visit our house twice for estimates. The light fixtures I ordered took almost 8 weeks to arrive, and when they finally did, I scheduled ABC to come install them. They did a great job with the electrical work. The electrician, Kurt, worked with me to figure out exactly what I wanted (because by then, I had changed what I wanted just slightly). Kurt had to do a bit more work than was originally thought to get the power working in our garage, which added a few hundred dollars to the original bid, but in the end, I got exactly what I wanted and I was very pleased. I will definitely call them again for any electrical work I need done.

Left very detailed voicemail message on 5/23/2011 with a request for estimate of replacing a box and replacing an existing light fixture in the guest bathroom. ABC Electric never returned my phone call. Very poor customer service/responsiveness. Angie Lists has several companies listed with A ratings but from my experience after calling several -- only one finally returned my phone call and did the work. Very disappointed with Angie List and the information provided. As for ABC Electric -- don't waste your time; they will not return your phone calls. Where's the professionalism and CUSTOMER service?

They have come out a few times to do some jobs for me. They have always did a great job for me. I am very impressed. They come when they are supposed and do not make you feel like they are doing things just to pad the bill.

We’ve used them twice and they are very good. They are very quick. It was always easy to schedule them quickly. I would definitely use their services again in the future.

They came out and looked at my bedroom and determined that it was a relatively easy job. They gave me quotes for best case scenario and worst case scenario. They were able to schedule within a week and do the work as expected. Paul showed up on time and quickly assessed what he needed to do. I showed him my access points and let him work. He quickly determined that the wiring was brittle to the main overhead and replaced those wires as well, without an extra charge. He was able to do everything by himself quickly and efficiently. I had scheduled for four hours and he was pretty much done in 2.5 hours which saved me a lot of time. He cleaned up after himself and the job was beautiful! I am really enjoying the new lights in my bedroom - they are exactly what I had hoped for. We spent some of the extra time talking about energy efficiency and the best bulbs to use for energy efficiency. All in all, I found the experience very pleasant and I would definitely call this company again for my lighting needs.

They were excellent. The guy was a good guy. They came on time and did the work within the price range. He was very competent and very personable. It was all good.

Estimator Randy was available within a couple days of when we called, and came out right on time. We'd had a different company come out for an estimate already, and got a bid of over $2000 for the same work; it had involved a crazy convoluted scheme of running conduits all over the outside of the house from the main electrical box, putting holes all over the place, even though we had pointed out that a Christmas light circuit already existed right in the area where we needed electricity, and we never intended to use it for lights so wondered if it could be converted. Randy came out, took a look at everything and tested all the outside outlets and made sure the situation with the Christmas circuit was what we thought it was, and he said we could use it, convert it to 220, no extra crazy wiring all over the outside of the house, etc. He helped us figure out specifically which version of the heaters we'd found online would work with this scheme, and how the controller would need to be configured. We had wanted a switch inside the house as a master control as well, and figured out how to do that easily as well. He emailed with an official estimate a couple days later, at less than 1/3 the cost of the other company because of the much simpler process involved to accomplish the same thing. We ordered the heaters and controller, and were able to schedule the work within a few days after they arrived. The electrician (I believe his name was Eric?) came out right on time, actually a few minutes early, and was friendly and professional. He worked with us on the specific location of the units and the controller, and consulted us any time a decision needed to be made, and we got exactly what we wanted. The work was very tidy -- as this is our front porch we had wanted to make sure to have minimal visible conduits, wires, etc., and he accomplished that very well. There was one unexpected glitch, where we found that another outlet was actually on that circuit, but he problem-solved quickly and professionally to deal with that too. He explained everything very well and made sure to answer any questions we had. Thank you, ABC electric! We are now enjoying a little extra warmth on our front porch :-)

We were getting several bids on replacing our knob & tube and a new service panel so we could do insulation. This is a pretty expensive job. I liked that ABC is nearby, and has pretty good reviews on here. We set up a time for an estimate. 15 minutes after the scheduled time, the estimator had not shown up and I called just to make sure I had the correct time. The administrator/secretary person was very helpful and apologetic. She found out the estimator had called the day before and the person who answered the phone said they had no idea what he was talking about and that they had to ask their parents about it, and their parents had no idea either, so he shrugged it off and wrote off the appointment in his book. Well there is no way anyone answered MY phone - which is my personal cell phone- and consulted with their parents on this issue (I don't have any parents in the picture). I guess he didn't ask for the person's name, or didn't verify which number he called, or...? But sure, it could be a human mistake, and I work making phone calls all day long so I know that things aren't always clear cut, so I rescheduled for 2 days later. The next day, I got a voice mail asking to change the time of the rescheduled appointment by 30 minutes. That was fine by me, since it was an early (for me) morning appointment and I could move around my morning schedule a bit. However, then early in the morning, the estimator called and rescheduled AGAIN (switching it back to original time). It worked out fine, but I had to really rush to be ready in time. This was 12 days ago and I have not gotten a written/emailed estimate from them as promised. We have had our other estimates all in for awhile and I'm tired of waiting to decide! So, ABC won't be getting our business for this relatively expensive job.

Very professionally done. Called ahead, arrived early, solved our problem. I will call them again if we need other help.

we called to make an appointment for an estimate, told them we saw them on Angie's list, which they replied they certainly could accommodate us, but stated they don't do estimates. ????!!!! We will not blindly sign a contract without an estimate!!

The person clearly thought inside the box. I gave him an electrical diagram and showed him the problem areas. His solutions were complicated and expensive. I left the process not fully understanding the problem. I eventually found out through a different bid that what was needed was to move space heaters and heavy drawing electrical units off the same fuse. Pretty simple logical solution which was quick and inexpensive.
