Everything went well. Very charismatic. There was a small hiccup from a subcontractor for the roof, but Troy quickly found a secondary service that performed just was well if not better for a better price. His work is outstanding and we easily would recommend him for anyone as well as will plan to use his team in the future

This was our first experience hiring a contractor and our first major remodel. Our house was built in the 50's and was a rental for several decades before we purchased it. It's a small entry level house with 3 BR and 1 a 1/2 bathrooms. The main bathroom is very small and was badly on need of a complete remodel. Cabinets, tub, floor, walls, everything.
I asked my Facebook community to recommend a contractor who could do remodel our bathroom and Troy Fry was one of the people referred to me by a friend who had hired him to work on their rentals. Some of the reasons I was interested in speaking with him was that they said he performed first rate work and would be conscious about working within our budget. I reached out to Troy by phone and was able to set up an appointment to look at our bathroom. Within a few weeks we were able to get an appointment and look at the space.
During the initial appointment, Troy asked several questions about what end product we were looking for. We wanted to save money as much as we could and our Father in Law is a professional plumber and he wanted to participate in this remodel as much as possible. Troy was willing work with our requests and gave us the option to purchase the fixtures and cosmetic materials on our own to save a % markup for materials he purchased. Based on our meeting he provided a cost estimate for labor and materials for his part of the scope of work and gave a general estimate on what we could expect to pay for the the new fixtures. He also had a very good design that increased our storage space and provided for two sinks instead of one.
We hired him to perform the work for us with 50% down payment and set a tentative start date. Troy gave us a list of items we would need to purchase and consolidate in our garage. He recommended a great counter top person, a cabinet maker, a plumbing place with show room, and a flooring person. We met with all of them and made our decisions and made our purchases. We learned along the way that despite our beer budget, we have champagne tastes!
Troy worked with our schedule on the remodel start date and when it began, things happened very quickly. Remodeling is dirty and dusty work however the house was kept as clean as it could have been during the process. Troy works with a core team of two and hires out electrical and plumbing and specialty plaster work to his preferred providers. They used our garage and driveway as the work space and each day gave us an update on progress either in person or by notes or e-mail. Troy uses e-mail and text to communicate rather than phone calls which was more convenient for us, but when we needed to get him on the phone, there was no problem doing so. The process from beginning to end took about 3 weeks.
Troy met us near the end of the project for a recap and to give us an update on our expenses. He did not want to collect payment until the project was complete. There were some minor finishing details that took a few days to resolve and then he met us again to provide the final bill. The final cost was close to his estimate for his labor and materials.
We are very satisfied the the finished bathroom. It met all of our expectations and more. It ended up being a complete strip down and remodel including a tile floor and new window because the doorway was too small to bring in the new tub enclosure. We added upgrades along the way with the tile flooring and very nice counter top options so our budget for purchasing items got a little away from us.
If I needed to repeat the experience, I would hire Troy and his contractors to perform the remodel without hesitation.

I am very pleased with the work and happy with my new door, deck and roof. From start to finish Troy Fry was professional and easy to work with. He worked well at putting my ideas into a functional and beautiful end product. His communication was outstanding and he was always available. If I had any questions he was prompt to answer them, and his knowledgeable suggestions were very helpful. He's closely involved with the building and I felt confident with his skill and attention to detail. He hired competent subcontractors for the roofing and gutters. I'm so pleased with the finished product! I can't wait to enjoy it this spring.

We called Troy for an estimate and he responded promptly. In looking at the project and what we were able to spend, he gave us some other options that we found would better fit our budget and needs. As a result, we decided to reduce the size of an adjacent bedroom which would be used as an office and increase the size of the master without having to change the structure of the house. He suggested adding interior French doors to the office thereby adding more light to the dark hallway. We contracted to move the bedroom wall, replace doors, moldings, and baseboards, install new lights and fans, change many electrical outlets, expand the closet, install new carpet, install a sun tube in the bathroom and other many other necessary tasks. As the project progressed there were changes and additions such as removing an unneeded portion of the hall wall, adding more interior doors, installing recessed lighting in the family room, and remodeling part of the master bath. Troy used qualified and experienced subcontractors for plumbing, electrical, carpeting and granite installation. We appreciated working with Troy because he communicated with us throughout the project. We were aware of the work that was being done and the crew’s work schedule. He was able to look at the house, hear what we wanted done, and make suggestions that were affordable and worked for us. We especially appreciated the way they left our house each day—as clean and neat as possible. Each time we added to the project, Troy brought us a contract adjustment so we were aware of the cost of the changes. In the end, the project cost what Troy had estimated. The remodel was completed within the time frame Troy estimated at the beginning of the project. In summary, the three aspects of the project we felt were most important were the superior quality of work done, the level of communication throughout the project, and the attention to detail and cleanliness. We have other future projects in mind and we will definitely call on Fry Construction to do the work.

Once the new cabinets were delivered to my house, I called to schedule Troy and was happy to find him at my house a few hours later opening boxes and taking inventory of the cabinets. He wanted to ensure that all of the cabinets were delivered and not damaged via shipping. Once the inventory process was complete, we schedule the installation for the following week. During the kitchen cabinet install, we ran into a few issues with the ceiling height sloping 1.5 inches over 12 feet. Troy was able to give me a few options on how to handle such issues without ever making it seem like the work he was doing was difficult. However, I'm experienced enough to know, he was dealing with some very difficult things, but he handled them extremely well. He did such a great job with the kitchen and bathroom cabinets, I decided to hire him to install doors and windows and do all of the molding installation as well. Troy came up with a very nice molding design and we are extremely happy with all of the results. I highly recommend Troy for any remodel needs.

I can't say enough nice things about Troy. From the moment we contacted him, he was responsive and professional. He was very careful when writing up the estimate and found ways for us to save money on the project. Troy also provided excellent advice during the course of the project. During the week and a half that it took for the remodel, Troy contacted us nearly every day to provide progress reports and immediately returned our calls when we had questions. Troy's goal throughout the project was to make sure that we were happy with the work that he and his team was doing. I would hire him again in a heartbeat.
