Many issues arose with the home throughout the process that might have delayed the sale. Susan was always on top of things, dealing with each problem effectively, efficiently and with the utmost professionalism.
Through the years I have dealt with several real estate agents? some fair? some good. Susan was extraordinary, going above and beyond. I cannot recommend her highly enough? A+ in every respect.
Just a few things in particular to mention:
Susan is a great communicator. Susan never assumes anything and really listens to what your needs are. She is also great about focusing exclusively on you during her time with you, she won't take other calls. However when she has a minute she'll get right back to you. There wasn't a day that went by when we were wondering where she went or were waiting on anything. She even got us into a ?cream puff? house an hour after going onto the market.
She is great at different forms of communication. Susan was easy to get in touch with and we used phone calls, email, and texting.
She doesn't push you into a higher sale. We used Susan as a buyer?s agent and we were looking well within our means. There were definitely a couple cream puff houses that we really pined for and could afford but Susan brought us back down to Earth and reminded us of what would work best for us. She talked us out of 4+ bedroom houses (too much to heat, clean, and furnish) and houses with huge yards (we'd spend all of our time doing yardwork when we really just wanted to explore Oregon).
Susan has a lot of experience. As first time, out-of-state home buyers we really relied on Susan?s expertise of different neighborhoods and knowledge of homes in general to know when we stumbled across a gem or a dud. She pointed out cracks, house settling, expensive heating systems, outside gardening and maintenance issues, etc. She?s been in the real estate industry all her life (her parents were real estate agents too) so she knows all the ins and outs of the game.
Susan is very organized. Susan always had all of our paperwork really organized and we never had to wait on her as we were pushing for a really fast close as we were living in temporary housing.
Susan has lots of great references. Susan gave us different contacts at banks and credit unions based on what we were comfortable with. We ultimately went with Darcee Slonecker at Umpqua bank which worked out really great for us as well (we ended up closing under 30 days and with a really great interest rate). She also has an arsenal of different contractors if you are in need of that she has been using for years.Susan worked well with the selling agent and pushed us harder than we thought possible to get nearly all of the items on our home inspection repaired.
I highly recommend Susan to anybody needing a realtor. She was great to work with, friendly, polished, and polite (while still negotiating a great deal on our house!). My wife and I are definitely going to use Susan if we ever chose to move again.
When we finally decided on a house, Susan was instrumental in helping us find good resources for many of the elements involved in buying a home. At the time we were searching for a house, I was involved in a major project for my job and really did not have time to handle some of the final details . Susan was such an advocate for us and helped .with so many details. When things got overwhelming, Susan's calm, professional manner got us through the process.
We have dealt with many realtors over the years and Susan ranks at the very top of our experience.
