Not well. There were multiple "rounds" of corrections that had to be made and very rudimentary requirements that were not met (like consideration of "critical root zones", egress requirements for bedroom window sizes, etc.). The approval process with the city took three times longer than normal, due to the number of errors and ommissions. We had to have things re-engineered to provide structural integrity and the contractor has had to make several adjustments during constructions.

Response from STONER DESIGN
MANY OF THE "CORRECTIONS" THAT HAD TO BE MADE WERE DUE TO FAULTY INFORMATION ABOUT THE AVAILABLE BUILDABLE SIZE PROVIDED BY THE CUSTOMER. THE "CRITICAL ROOT ZONES" INFORMATION PROVIDED BY BOTH THE CUSTOMER AND THE CITY WAS INCORRECT, AND REDRAWS HAD TO BE DONE TO ACCOMMODATE THAT. MUCH OF THE DELAY AT THE CITY IN ISSUING THE PERMIT WAS DUE TO ZONING ISSUES (CRITICAL ROOT ZONE), NOT TO THE ACTUAL DRAWINGS. ONCE THE PERMIT WAS ISSUED AND EXCAVATION WAS BEGUN, IT WAS DISCOVERED THE STRUCTURE WAS TO BE BUILT ON AN OLD DUMP SITE. I WAS REMOVED FROM THE LOOP AT THAT POINT, BUT I WOULD IMAGINE THE RE-ENGINEERING REQUIRED HAD TO DO WITH THE GROUND-BEARING VALUE DUE TO THE DUMP-SITE EXCAVATION AND REQUIRED FILL AS A RESULT. I WOULDN'T KNOW FOR SURE, THOUGH, BECAUSE I WASN'T TOLD ABOUT ANYTHING BEYOND THE FACT THERE WAS AN OLD DUMP THERE. AND ADJUSTMENTS ARE COMMON. IT IS A DESIGNER'S JOB TO TRY TO KEEP THEM AT A MINIMUM.
