They are excellent. They're timely, they know what they're doing, and they always give me good advice.

Sperry was prompt and professional. The arborist clearly was not fishing for work; he was very knowledgeable and discussed each of the trees in detail, answering my questions along the way. We agreed that one, the birch, should come down. When the crew arrived, they were clearly professional and set to work immediately. All along, they carefully took the tree down piece by piece to keep everything safe. It was a smooth perfect job.

Selected Sperry Tree Care after talking to them at the home and garden show in Eugene early 2010. They followed up with a call and we arranged for a (free) consultation. Nathaniel accommodated our busy schedule and spent about 2 hours with us sharing is extensive knowledge of trees (focusion on our big leaf maple) as well as many useful details about sustainable management of the spaced around our house (useful tips on wildlife, native and invasive species, growing fruits and vegetable). He patiently listened to us, answered all our questions with respect and patience, and eventually provided us with several options and corresponding estimates. We chose the one that felt like the best compromise; we did not feel pressured in any way during that process. A few weeks later the work was scheduled and, on the chosen day, a team of two (Jason and Dave) arrived on schedule and promptly set to work. Jason (up in the tree) and Dave (down below controling the falls and moving them to the chipper around the house) worked non-stop for 6 to 7 hours. This was a spring day and the weather was quite feisty (sudden downpours, gusts of wind, bright sunshiny breaks) but that did not slow them much. Only during the worst of the rain did they stop (Jason "hangin on" on a branch and Dave taking refuge against the wall on our deck. I worked all day at my desk in our dining room (cozy and warm) and it could have been any other day....these guys just went about their work and I sometimes just forgot that they were around (they even declined my offer to temporarily 'take refuge' when the rain made renewed attempt at drowning the day). I was however preparng myself for an hour or so of complete cleaning once they were gone. That was not necessary. They left our roof, deck, lawn (overgrown!), driveway and curbs cleaner than they were went they got in in the morning. I may not need them to trim our trees very soon but I am thinking about hiring them for weekly cleanup of the grounds. I was sincerely VERY impressed by how knowledgeable, respectful, focosed and professional these guys were. Our experience with Sperry Tree Care has fully met (in fact exceeded) our demanding expectations. We did have a slighly less than satisfactory 'encounter' with a young person answering the phone on one occasion...but that feels very much anecdotal compared to the overall quality of the work we paid for. We WILL definitely engage their services again if our trees require it!

They did a fast and thorough job, and cleaned up well (it was very messy.) The price was less than the estimate. Two years later, the tree is thriving from the attention.They have come back to check the Hawthorne, and did not charge us.

They were knowledgeable and friendly. They were a little pricey but I would give them an A on everything else.

We got a quote for pruning and removing some small deadwood from three huge trees (two oaks and a fir). During the first day of work the foreman noticed a split in another oak and recommended we do that, for an additional fee. We agreed because our goal was to get the trees in shape and to have our property as safe as possible. They worked h****** a very hot day, but ran out of time to do all the first three trees, so returned to complete the job and to do the additional tree. The trees look great now and we feel they are safe because there is no deadwood remaining. The guys who did the work were courteous and professional, and the foreman did a good job explaining why the 'banana' split in the fourth tree could cause a problem. The ultimate price we paid for all four trees seemed high to us, but we don't have much experience with this so maybe it is reasonable. Even with that said, we would still hire Sperry again because of their professionalism and thoroughness of their work.

We were pleasantly surprised at how much we learned about our trees from Albi, the fellow from Sperry tree care. He was quick and thorough and he managed to do some very dangerous trimming with grace and care. He gave us info all of our trees and now we know who they are!

We phoned the office and Nathaniel came out to look at the trees on the property and give his assessment of what needed to be done. He wrote a detailed bid with every tree priced separately so that we could chose which things we wanted done. If we accepted the whole bid (which we did) there was a 15% discount. We signed the bid and mailed it to the office. They phoned to tell us they had received the bid and that Nathaniel would be calling to set up an appointment for the work. It was several weeks before we heard from him but it was their busy season. On the work day a crew of 8-10 came with lots of equipment and two wood chippers. They introduced themselves and set to work. It was like a three-ring circus. It was very interesting to watch them climb the trees. They took safety precautions both for themselves and our house. The crew on the ground hauled up the tree branches and put them through the wood chipper. They asked us if they had done everything we wanted.
