Called Monday at 9 Am to find out when to pick up the car... Car was diagnosed! The owner explained to me that the problem was something that would cost an arm and a leg to fix, due to component cost, not labor. He recommended that I not replace the passenger thermostat, on the door, and disconnected it, so the dash thermostat would work. I mentioned I did electronics for a living, and he passed me the parts list, and diagrams in the event I wanted to fix it myself! He could have ripped me off, and did not even try! Wonderful! I will take ALL auto electrical problems to this vendor from now on. He charged me $35.00 for about an hour of his time, and made my car work, without my spending several hundred bucks on the thermostat I did not need.
Would I take a car to him again, you bet!
From the first call you get the full attention of Gale the owner. You then tell him what the symptoms are and find yourself making these noises that apparently only electrical components found on said vehicle can make. If you didn't have his full attention, well you do now! I knew this by the way he asked me to and quot;repeat that one more timeand quot;. You can even see the wheels turning without being there. Ok, so now the question remains did he just put me on the intercom or is he simply needing to hear that unique squealing squawking thing? I choose to think he just needed to hear it twice! Any who, after hearing it a second time he can almost always tell you what it is and if not he'll have a good idea where to start. Seriously tho, at Shelby's Auto you can count on quality parts that'll be backed by a warranty. With the experience that can be found there you are sure to never be disappointed. Most parts to my surprise are in stock, and if not they are only a day or two away. Rarely is there a time that it takes more than a little while to get the vehicle back if it's something that your having them do. And its worth the wait because it will be done the right way. When it comes to electrical repairs or components for RV's or for my fleet of trucks and trailers we beat up daily, I will only use Shelby's Auto Electric. Thank You for the long hours, fair prices and quality parts!!

He found no problems with the electrical system, and prior to running up a huge bill on a small item he asked if I really wanted the remote heater control fixed. Would have cost a few hundred bucks. I said no, and he only charged me some very small amount for the look over on the electrical system. We talked a bit, and he realized I had an electronics background, so he handed me the papers which allowed me to fix the heater control. Very nice person, very honest, and I will take ALL my auto electrical problems to him, from now on. He reminds me of the repair folks of 40 years ago, honest, and not out to rip you.
