Randall's was the second shop I got an estimate at. They were $300 less and did all the work in one day and 1/2. Owner, John and his staff are all helpful and professional. They explain all work and warranties. They gave me a life home dnd picked me up. Great place, great work, wonderful price!

I towed my car to Randalls, they decided I needed a new starter.
I have an old Saturn, they had to get a replacement part. All was good, but after a week, my car would not start again when I was in a parking lot. They rushed to my rescue and fixed it to get me home. I was assured it would start in the morning and to bring it back in to replace the starter. I was a bit worried that it would start the next morning, but it did - they found that the starter they had put in was the problem, and fixed it at no charge to me! This is an honest, friendly and wonderful place to hand your car over to! They are now my main mechanics!

Randalls has been my mechanic for the past 14 years (Initially Randy Wiltsey, and then John Cossey after he took it over a dozen years ago). I have taken all types of automobiles to them. John has trained his mechanics well and they each have a broad base in different areas. I always know I will get a straight answer about what my car needs. If the work is not absolutely necessary, he will make suggestions as to how I can take care of an issue a little at a time, or to try other methods before actually replacing the expensive parts. I love options, especially when a car may only be worth two to three times the value of the proposed repair. Safety is a priortiy here and I have only been given alternative options when they would still keep my vehicle safe. Aside from a few blown tires, I have never had a car strand me on the side of the road (my current three vehicles are 25+ years old, 170k miles, and 178k miles (I rack up a lot of miles).
Any time a friend asks my opinion about purchasing a car, I always implore them to take it to Randalls for an inspection FIRST. I have been saved numerous times from buying cars with hidden problems.
Joe at the front desk is very open about scheduling me in and estimating when they can get to things. When I've been in a hurry (engine light or suspension noises right before a trip) they have fit me right in and got me on my way.
John has been very fair with his price structure over the years and I feel he is the best deal in town with his combination of honesty, experience and capablility, and rate. Rarely have I ever needed to take a car back. In those few cases it was my choice to try a cheaper method that and quot;may or may not solve the problemand quot;... like cleaning a part rather than replacing it to turn off a dash light.
John is also very generous and concerned about others and sets up a toy drive every year for less fortunate children as one example.
I find myself bumping into all kinds of people I know in his waiting room, either because they've been going there for a long time as I have, or they have been referred to him. I, for one, have referred dozens of people to Randalls and will continue to do so.

He had given me an estimate of about $500, but it ended up costing $431. My husband and I have used this mechanic (John is the owner, I believe) for the last 9 or 10 years and I am so very pleased with their work, service, prices, honesty and integrity. Recently, both my husband and my youngest son bought cars and we were able to simply pick up the phone and call Joe (who answers the phone usually) and get their opinions on different cars. I have learned more in the last 10 years about cars because these guys know what their doing, are very knowledgeable and take the time to explain each repair, maintenance, all the whys and wherefores--John even once explained exactly how putting cheap gas in your car ruins it and it burns faster anyway, so no savings there. They send regular reminder postcards when service is due, and have kept our vehicles running for a long time. I even have oil changes done there because they offer buy 5, get 6th one free, which works out to $21.95 per change--less than what it would cost me to buy the oil and filter and change it myself!
I tell everyone I know about these guys because a good mechanic is like gold!!
