Long story short - I am out $165.00 and have nothing to show for it. The only thing that I have gained from this experience is a mistrust of contractors. In my opinion, he made an error in underbidding my project. A simple phone call or visit to the permit office would have clued him in on the added expense that he tried to pass along (blindside) me. I plan to file a complaint with the OCCB. Yes I am frustrated.
