Our Cav is 8 years old and we were reluctant to take her to a groomer, knowing she would be very frightened. But we were unable to groom her properly at home, so we chose Linda's Paws-n-Claws. We have taken our dog there now for a year (approximately once a month) and we could not be more satisfied.
Linda is very responsive to calls to set up an appointment. Usually we get the voicemail, as she is busy grooming, but she calls back as soon as she is able, and always in a timely manner.
Best of all, our dog--who trembles violently at the vet in spite of wonderful treatment--seems to have become comfortable here. Don't get me wrong, she would still rather stay home and be with her people. But they are SO good to her at Linda's, and so aware of our dog's fear that they make an extra effort to greet Maggie and help her relax.
Whenever we have a concern, it is immediately addressed. For a while, our dog shook her head following each grooming. We leaped to the conclusion that water was getting in her ears. We were wrong. After asking Linda to please make sure no water got near her ears, the headshaking continued. It turned out that small clippings of fur were getting into her ears. Linda immediately took care of that by putting cotton in the dog's ears at each grooming. No more head shaking!
We are fully over our guilt at taking our dog to a groomer. But I doubt very much we could bring ourselves to take her to anyone other than Linda.

This is not the least expensive shop, but in terms of location, kindness, care for animals, and quality of work- it's great. We are satisfied.
