The whole process was completed very efficiently and professionally. I highly recommend Home Comfort Heating as an HVAC contractor and maintenance firm.
My first contact with HCH was by email, which was answered promptly--within a couple of hours. An appointment was set to evaluate the job and prepare an estimate. That appointment was kept very precisely by Jake McCall. An estimate of the cost to do the installation was provided promptly. The estimated cost was met precisely. Compared to another estimate by another contractor for the same job, the price quoted by HCH was much less.
An estimated installation date of approximately 2 weeks after the date of the estimate was made and met. With winter approaching we were anxious for installation as soon as possible. We were told that nearly all, if not all of the work would be completed in one day.
On Nov. 22, 2013, the HCF crew arrived promptly at the agreed upon time and began work installing the system. All members of the crew were very courteous and knowledgeable of the tasks to be accomplished. They took time to answer all questions that we posed as the work progressed. Further, they were very careful to protect every part of our home and yard during the accomplishment of their work.
Late that afternoon, the installation was ready for final inspection and turn-on. That task was to be completed by Aaron, their quality control technician. As it happened, he was involved on the final inspection of another job and unable to come to our house immediately upon completion of the installation work. Complications on that other job delayed him until early evening when he called saying that he would be able to arrive at our house around 7PM. Since we had no urgent need to have the system turned on that evening, I told him to wait, get some rest and finish our job later. After insisting that he could still come to our job to finish it, he finally relented and took my suggestion to delay his arrival until later.
Aaron arrived the next day, did the final inspection and turned on our new heating/cooling unit. The city inspector arrived a couple of days later and confirmed that everything was done properly and according to code. We are very satisfied with the performance of the new HVAC system.
I have had a number of experiences with contractors related to housing that have been nightmares. This job was the extreme opposite. Everything was done professionally, on time, and every courtesy extended to us in the process.
Agreed that doing a full leak check was not necessary at the time, topped up the freon and suggested that I have the level re-checked later this year.
