I visited another local trainer, but preferred Heeling Free's style. Weekly lesson and homework with options depending on if you are working with a puppy or adult dog. Many and quot;traineesand quot; were puppies, but there were some adult dogs too. Reasoning behind his training methods made sense and are based on praise and knowing a dog usually wants to please rather than on treats or negative attention. Harold also talked about what to look for in the right training tools, such as leashes and collars. He sold some items, but it was never a big sales push. It felt more like he had them or even made them so that you'd have a quality item, but also noted what to look for so that you could get them at a store on your own. It really showed when I was able to spend more time and do the homework consistently during the week, compared to when we could only spend a few days in a rushed week. My son came with me to some of the trainings and I bought a set of CDs so that my husband could see the techniques, because it's not the same as me telling or showing him. The CDs will also be great to brush up on lessons later. It's also great that you can always retake future lessons for free with the same dog to refresh or so that another family member can work with them too. My puppy will eventually be 50-60 pounds and is very active, so I wanted to make sure that she gets trained before she reaches that size. It was a useful class. Now we have to make sure to work on lessons we didn't have as much time to spend on and keep her on the right track. I highly recommend Harold and his class for all ages of dogs.

This was the 4th dog I that I took through the course. This dog was the biggest challenge of any dog I have had. I found that if I followed each lesson exactly word-for-word, and did the homework every week, I had a fabulous dog. He is now 10 years old. I am not embarrassed to take him anywhere as he is very well-behaved. When I see people go through the class and their dogs are not responding, I can tell that it is the the dog owner, not the dog who is at fault. Harold is really big on praising the dog for the good deeds, rather than yelling or spanking the dog for bad things. I'm happy with the results and I highly recommend Healing Free to anyone who gets a dog. I started my dog at 8 weeks old. And, I went through the class 3 times with this dog. I really needed the reinforcement and Harold is kind enough to allow students/dogs to return to class at any time as many times as necessary.

4 year old dog was adopted from a shelter. Overall the dog was well behaved, but had issues with intermittant house training and agression with other dogs. Training is resoving these issues. There is a lifetime guarantee on the training. That is, if you want to bring the dog back for additional training it is free of charge.
