Chris was excellent. The floors look awesome. Chris was punctual and precise.  He is very mindful of protecting the rest of the house from the dust as well. Highly recommended. THANK YOU!

We had the house lifted and reset on a new foundation. The contractor told us that NOW was the time to refinish our very scuffed floors. Giroux did the work and it looked absolutely beautiful. Shiny and smooth. Unfortunately, gaps formed in the new finish between the floor boards about 8 weeks after the work was completed. The gaps are rough and snag socks and dirt collects in the spaces. Giroux came back out to the house and said this issue wasn't covered by the guarantee because he didn't install the floor (it's 90 years old so no he didn't) so I guess there really isn't a guarantee. Giroux said that the cracks may have been caused because humidity changed in the floor boards with the new foundation. So, lesson learned? Immediately after setting a house back on a new foundation is NOT the time to refinish wood floors. Prior to the work being done neither the contractor or Giroux advised us that splits or cracks in the finish could occur. We would not have had the floors sanded at this time had we known. Sadly, because the floors were sanded once before by previous owners, we are not able to refinish them again.

The floors in 1945 house were stained a dark color and in terrible shape after years of abuse.  In addition, new drywall was hung throughout the house (ceiling and walls) -- the drywall contractor made a huge mess and didn't clean up anything.  There was hardened drywall mud caked over every inch of the 900 square feet of floor to be refinished.  Even though Giroux Hardwood Floors had given their estimate prior to the drywall disaster, there was no increase in price for the additional work.  They even worked at night and weekend hours because of time constraints!
The floors look wonderful -- couldn't be happier!

It went perfectly. He did everything he said he was going to do when he was going to do it. I couldn't have asked for a better contractor. He kept the dust confined to the rooms he was working in. He did an excellent job taping off the rest of the house to keep it clean. It was great.

He was very easy to work with, easy to get ahold of and schedule a time to do the work and the final product is beautiful.  The floors match perfectly with the previously refinished floors that connect to the rooms.  His price was a few hundred dollars more than other quotes I received, however,  I think the money was well worth it in terms of the quality of work and the ease of working with him.  I would highly recommend Chris for your floor work!

After removing carpet from our front room found that we had hardwood flooring underneath.  The floor was scratched and had staple holes from the carpet.  Chris replaced a small section that had been damaged and was able to fill gaps and refinish our floor.  He did such a good job  that the entire floor looked brand new and you couldn't even tell where the replacement boards were placed. We wanted to use polyurethane to match the bedroom finish and he did so perfectly.  His price for the job was very reasonable. Finding quality craftsmen who take pride in their work and are fair in their pricing is rare, and Chris is one of them.

Chris Giroux showed up exactly when he said he would, gave us a detailed proposal and explained what needed to be done. Our maple floors were originally laid by another company that did not do a great job of finishing them...after 12 years of piecemeal touchups they were a mess. There was separation, gouges left by the other refinisher, and discoloration. He was here for 3 days, helped move the heavy furniture off of the floor, hung plastic over the cabinets and blocked off the other rooms. Even after just the sanding and repair work the floors looked better than they did when brand new. Today he put the 3rd and final coat of finish on and they are absolutely beautiful....like a piece of fine furniture. Almost too pretty to walk on. Chris showed up every day exactly when he said he would, was professional and explained each step he was taking. He cleaned up behind himself. Tomorrow he is coming back to help us move our furniture back so that we don't damage the finish. We would highly recommend Chris for any hardwood floor job. He was recommended to us by another satisfied client and we are more than pleased. He met and exceeded our expectations

They did a very good job. He was reliable. His estimate was exactly what he charged. He was always on time. He cleaned up everything very well. He did a really nice job. We were Amazed! Our house was built in 1959 and the floors were not in good shape and they turned out great. I would recommend him.

The floors are BEAUTIFUL. Chris was extremely helpful as we selected our color for the floors. He made a sample board with over a dozen different effects to choose from. Chris has done a lot of high-end work, and he has a good eye for what will look good on the floor and in the house. We chose a dark coffee color with a satin finish which was a dramatic improvement from the original orange-y, and very shiny, oak. His work is meticulous, and he is very pleasant and easy to work with. Although he was very busy, Chris had an opening due to a cancellation and was very efficient in his work. He even worked over a weekend to accomplish the job without cutting any corners.
