EMERALD FENCE & DECK

I am so impressed with Eric's work! He tore down two old fences and replaced the fence that ran alongside the road, the fence that attached to the garage, and the gate leading to the back yard in three days. He was meticulous in his labors - the fence and gate he built exceeded my expectations. I'd wanted a gate that had a slight u-shape at the top and pickets a bit wider in space than the fence and he built one exactly as I'd imagined. I would highly recommend him for any fencing or deck work that needs to be done.

When I bought my home it had a cheep, poorly constructed privacy fence that I knew I would eventually have to replace. I planned on doing it the Summer of 2015, but dual wind storms knocked down a 30 foot section of the fence, which drove up my time-table. I did a bunch of research of local fencing contractors, and compared many of their work in my neighborhood (N. Gilham) and determined that Emerald produced the best quality.

I was able to work with Eric (owner of Emerald Fence and Deck) and my two neighbors who shared the fence to come to an agreement on what style would work best for our properties. Eric and his team tore down the old fence, leaving some of the sections for my neighbor's crafty daughter to work with, and took the rest away. Over the course of a few days they put in the new fence, gate, and applied a stain. Everything went very well and Eric was very easy to work with.

Several months later, one of the posts began to twist (something about the wood) and pull away from one of its joints. I let Eric know and he came out and fixed it for free.

The only negative I can say about Emerald Fence & Deck is that they are very busy, so promptness on returning messages is not so great. But the quality is fantastic and they are easy to work with. I will probably be hiring them again to replace my deck.

From first meeting, Eric was very attentive and willing to answer all our questions. even ones we didn't know we had. Not being fencing experts, it was nice to have someone lead us through all the particulars, down to the kind of nails they would be using!
After agreeing on the style of fence and gates we wanted, we paid half up front and set a start date. Eric's lead guy came by to survey the property and asked a few more questions about how we wanted things as well as whtether or not we wanted all the old posts pulled up, or sawn off at the ground. We decided that the post not interfering with installation of the new posts was fine. They began removing the fence almost immediately and were done in a day. They installed temporary partition fencing, (orange plastic construction), to keep the neighbors dogs safe. The whole process was fairly quick and the fence was completed in a few days.
The gates however, took quite a while to arrive on site, which I found a bit annoying. When they arrived though they were beautifully crafted and the hardware was very nice. The entire frame is powder coated to ensure rust resistance for years and is beautiful against the deep red of the cedar.
All in all I have been very pleased with the fence and gates. We have had a cavalcade of people come by the house and knock on the door asking if they can look at it. I think they think they can reproduce it themselves, but that's not likely. Or just passers by telling us how beautiful it is. I had an alignment problem with the driveway gate. I called Eric and he was on-site in 48 hours, fixed the alignment no questions. The gate since has been a dream to have.

They built the deck for me. Their price was reasonable. They did a good job. They got the job done in a short amount of time.

Eric's crew came in on time.Were very courteous,and did what we asked them to do, the tee.It looks great!!We did have a bit of a communication glitch on the final aspect of the job, but Eric took care of it quickly,with no problems.They gave us tips on how to maximize the lattice work we wanted to do ourselves, and I recommend them to anyone.

The job turned out very well and the price was totally fair. He went above and beyond and the people who work for him are A+. Their cleanup was great and when they had to leave some things they told me about it then left it in a neat pile. Aside from the cleanup, their professionalism was great as well. I am planning to have them do a fence for me as well.

The latest windstorm in late Dec. was the final straw for my backyard fence. The frame cracked and the fence was leaning. I have a large dog and a fenced yard is very important. I needed the fence replaced and it had to be done as rapidly as possible. I called Emerald Fence and Deck for an estimate. I checked them out on the Contractor's board to be sure they had the necessary insurance, bonding, etc. I was happy with their bid and so asked them to start the fence. I once again explained that I needed the fence completed as rapidly as possible. Not a problem. They started on a Wednesday morning and the fence was completed Thursday early afternoon. I really liked that when they encountered a problem they contacted me and had a great solution. The fence looks great and I am very, very pleased with it. The crew was very professional and were considerate of my lawn and shrubs. When they left the yard was very clean. I highly recommend Emerald Fence and Deck.

It went very well. I was treated with respect and professionalism throughout. My new fence and gate are beautiful and functional.

Their estimate was in between the other two. Work was scheduled a couple of weeks after contract accepted. Demolition and construction done professionally in 2-3 days.

We had a bunch of fence companies give us bids. We told them all we wanted to replicate the fence that was currently in place but falling down and in major disrepair. We wanted the fence to be a rustic looking fence that would keep our dog in but was not a solid wall type of fence. All the fence companies told us (including Emerald Fence) that it would be very expensive to replicate the old fence. Most of the other fence companies suggested solutions that seemed to be more what they wanted to build and I suspect what was most profitable for them. Eric at Emerald Fence was the only one who listened to what we wanted and suggested a solution that was reasonably priced and fit what we wanted. He went out of his way to design an original fence based on what we told him we wanted. We decided to go with Emerald and we were not disappointed. His crew were friendly and worked hard. They completed the fence in time and on budget. Due to the unusual design of the fence there were a few issues that arose that Eric solved creatively and economically. We are thrilled with our fence and everyone who has seen it has been impressed. I highly recommend Eric and Emerald Fence.
