Lets give them an A. The only problem was in one area where they had to join carpeting because of the configuration of the floor. The juncture wasn't as invisible as I would have liked it to have been.

It went great. They were super friendly and helpful, and they had a large selection of scraps available for such a small job. The installation went really well too. Also, the facility has a nice bathroom and some cool ride-able toys for 10 cents for little ones. That made the trip a lot easier with my 3 year old.

The owner, Rocky, helped us at the store. He was very responsive and helpful in guiding us in the right direction based on what we wanted. He was also helpful in showing us options and giving us technical information about carpeting that was useful to know in making our final choice. Someone came to our home to measure the space to be carpeted at our request the next business day, and the installers showed up on time. Though they were contract installers, they were professional and efficient in doing their work. The installation went without a hitch. We would use Dalton again for carpeting.

The owner, Rocky, was very knowledgeable about products and recommended a good, quality laminate for our rental house. We also used Dalton for our own home in May, which also has laminate flooring. Everything went along smoothly and was installed by their contracted installers efficiently and right on schedule.

Looking for an inexpensive but decent quality vinyl. They had a good selection for my needs at a reasonable price. I was able to leave it with them until I needed it, about a month.

We visited Dalton Carpet along with three other Eugene carpet stores and what stood out at Dalton was the huge warehouse full of new rolls of carpet, most of them had prices marked right on the end of the roll. Dalton has samples like the other stores, but we preferred shopping the in-stock carpet - and there was plenty to choose from.
We got a nice greeting when we arrived; there were three or four guys working that day. They had a few other customers in the store at the time. My wife finally chose the color she wanted and although there was no pressure really, one of the guys was right there to answer her questions. They negotiated with her a bit and settled on a price that included new pad. Dalton had an installation special going on and we saved enough on the living/dining room that we decided to include new carpet for our #2 daughters room. This store also carries a huge number of smaller, room sized rolls (must be the end from big rolls when they sell a whole house) these rolls are marked too... we got a fantastic deal (about $125) on the carpet for the bedroom.
The installers arrived a bit early, they took their shoes off when they came in and they did a nice job of taking out the old carpet and installing the new carpet. Overall we were really very happy with our experience with Dalton Carpet and we do recommend them to you.

This write-up is a tough call but, after thinking it over, I think it is fair. We selected a luxury carpet for the master bedroom that needed to be special ordered. Since we were planning on adding hardwood flooring to other rooms after the carpet was installed, we needed coordination between the two jobs. Unfortunately the measurer mis-measured the carpet, so when the installers arrived, we were left with a 4.5 foot missing segment. Panic ensued!
Now to their credit, Dalton offered to send a replacement carpet, but it would have taken two weeks and that would have interfered with the hardwood floor installation. Also, our bedroom has a large platform bed that requires complete disassembly for removal. Since Dalton did not offer to have movers move the furniture back from the garage, remove it when the new carpet arrived, and then repeat the process for the new carpet, we were in a hard place. Eventually, we discovered it would be possible to get a carpet fragment of the right size and same dye-lot, so we went with that option, even though it meant the room would have a seam. We were in a panic and accepted this plan B. The house, with the furniture, was in upheaval and we spent several nights in the guest room. Our clothes were in two different places, etc.--it was a mess.
When it came time to settle, there was no offer from Dalton about compensating us for their screw-up or our inconvenience. When I mentioned it, Wess the sales guy looked stricken. Perhaps he was seeing his commission diminished--I don't know. Eventually he agreed to a $100 discount of the carpet price. Also, we had torn out the carpet and disposed of it ourselves. When I first walked in, they said they would charge about $125 for that part of the job, but when I mentioned it at settlement, he only offered $38. I didn't argue because I was ready to leave.
Oddly, we had asked them to measure other rooms in the house for another job next year. I guess they thought they had already blown that possibility, so they dug in their heels. Foolish of them because if they had compensated us properly, honestly, and without a fight, we would have considered them for the future despite the mishap. Overall: I would not deal with Wess because he is dishonest. The installers were good and qualified and the bedroom looks great and one can barely see the seam. (The measurers obviously less competent.) I would not use them again but if you dealt with another sales rep, I could see others being satisfied.
