Reassuring, knowledgeable

I last used them 3 years ago, and the reason why so long ago, is because the cats died, but it has nothing to do with them. They were fantastic. The office was in an older building that had probably been a house, but it doesn't matter. They were very welcoming, conscientious, passionate, and treated the animals with respect and care. They were terrific.

My second visit was a terribly sad one, for my cat had experienced multiple organ failure and it was time to put her down. The vet and assistant were compassionate and kind, and very attentive to both my emotional state, and my cat's comfort. They sedated her and
made her comfortable, I was able to hold and pet her as she fell into a deep and restful sleep, and then they gently administered the second drug to stop her heart.
After a horrible experience with impersonal people and long waits at Banfield Vet (inside Petco) with another elderly cat's end of life, I was dreading the appointment. Instead, I was amazed at how warm and positive the experience was. (I even made the comment that I wished my own eventual death could be that peaceful and pain-free!) The assistant even made a commemerative paw-print plaque for me.

We went to this Vet and truly believed that we were not given good information. We were told out cat needed every test in the world for her allergies. We were very skeptical about this vet and we left without having any tests done. Just her vaccines were given

Dr. Shelley was the one I spent more time with. She was really friendly and outgoing. She handles animals very well. From the doctor if I want information she was good at that. She was great. There was another doctor there Dr. Patricia Shea who was also very good. She was not much of a people's person but very good with animals. They have some Saturday hours I did not hear of.

Overall I was not at all happy.We saw three different vets at the same place with different opinions on how her flea allergy should be rx'd and three different opinions on how we should handle her weight problem.I drove down there to give a urine sample and told it was no good although in the instructions never state what constitutes a good sample.I was not happy with the woman at the front desk who was condescending and trying to diagnose my cat's problems.I called and talked to the office manager and got the response that we are sorry but no real satisfaction that I was really being listened to.I think one of the vets was capable and if she had her own practice I would go and see her.

We have been going to this vet since September 2009. We are very pleased in general with the care our two cats (one very elderly and one younger and obese) get on a regular basis (at least once a month, sometimes more). Given how much care both cats need, their affordable prices are much appreciated. We always ask to see Dr. Carissa Tran, as we just prefer her "bedside manner" to the others. On this particular day, we brought our obese cat in for a follow-up appointment. We had to wait maybe 10 minutes, which is a little longer than usual, because there was some sort of emergency with another cat. (One thing they could improve on is letting us know when they are running behind; one other time we had to wait a half hour or more; but in general, we go right in.) They weighed him and we confirmed (as we'd feared) that he had gained (!) weight in the 4 weeks he'd been on a new diet. Dr. Tran printed out three alternative diets for us to choose from and spent time discussing the options with us to help us choose given our two cats' needs. We paid up quickly (this generally goes very smoothly) and were on our way. The whole experience lasted maybe a half hour.
