This is the worst company I have ever hired. They proved themselves to be grossly incompetent and exemplify horrible customer service. I have a full write up of my experience below, but if you need septic services in the Eugene area do not hire this company, hire Advanced On Site Septic Solutions instead. I hired this company at the suggestion of my realtor when selling a home with a septic system. I specifically requested the tank not be pumped because it was pumped two years prior. The company came out and did an inspection and left. Days later they said they couldn't fill out an actual DEQ report (the paperwork you need for an inspection) without pumping the tank. This is a lie. The report can be done, it's just their policy to mandate pumping because they charge about $600. Had I known they were just upselling me I would have never had them back. Unfortunately I made the mistake of believing them, and had them back to finish the job they started. Their subsequent performance was egregious. The technician showed up an hour late and pumped the tank. He reported that the system had massive flaws and needed $8000 dollars in repairs. (All of this is in contrast to the inspection done two years prior). He reported that the system had no distribution box, had fundamental design flaws, and that the drainage lines were missing a gravel base. in the process of his inspection this technician left an open hole in my yard where my dogs run. The DEQ report that I received, days later, used an existing plotmap from the county website and the technician used a pen to mark a few dots to indicate a single drain line. Because the system passed its water test, showed no signs of flawed operation in the two years I lived at the home, and none of these issues had been reported on the inspection two years prior, I called in another contractor for their opinion. This contractor marked the system’s third inspection in two years, and his findings, and the service his company provided, were markedly different from Above All's. The second contractor showed up on time with two technicians. They inspected the tank, looked at the open hole Above all left and immediately identified that it was not the location where the distribution box would be, nor where gravel was required. In the course of their visit they conducted a flush test, replaced the inlet baffle, ran wire through the leech lines to ensure their clarity, used a sonar device to track the lines, and located and dug up the distribution box Above All reported didn't exist. They then spray painted the grass to trace the drain field, and launched a drone to take pictures for their map. Once finished, they filled their inspection hole -and the hole left by Above All- and the next morning I received the DEQ report and a map they drafted marking the drain lines. Three days later I received a letter thanking me for my business, with a customer service questionnaire and a stamped and addressed envelope. This service, which left the system in perfect working order, cost a fraction of the $8000 in repairs Above All said were necessary. With this big of a difference in performance, I was obviously dissatisfied with what Above All had provided. I wrote up a similar summary and sent it to the office manager who forwarded it to the owner. He defended his companies performance and claimed they acted according to their "company protocol." I sent a response reiterating all of the performance issues- being an hour late, being unable to identify septic system components, being unable to appropriately locate the drain field, leaving an open hole in my yard, and providing a drain field "map" that was a few dots on an existing plot map- and asked if he would accept this as a customer, and if this performance was indicative of his company values. He never responded. With performance and service at this level, I don't know how this company has been successful. I hope anyone looking for septic service can learn from my mistake and experience. Do not hire Above All Sanitation.
