They were here January of 2015.

Our home was in need of new ventilation in the main bathroom as mold was beginning to build on the ceilings. Two windows were the main source of venting steam out of the bathroom, but an exhaust fan was needed to help combat the problem. I put in a request for an electrician online at Service Magic. Kurt was quick to respond to our request. He was accommodating to with our schedule to install our bathroom exhaust fan. Every aspect of the job was professional. Installation was clean and seamless. Highly recommended and will use again when electrical work is needed.

Installer was punctual, efficient and skilled. He did a great job. Square 1 has also given me a bid on more electrial work in another unit, and I plan to use them for that.

I have had much construction over the years and I can honestly say that no other contractor has been easier to work with. From start to finish Square 1 was excellent!

Great, we called him and he came over, gave us a fair estimate. We chose our fixtures and he contacted the store to receive the contractor's discount. Once they were available, he promptly called and made an appointment to install them.

Kurt was extremely easy to work with. I had a detailed list of what I wanted changed, and he had some helpful suggestions about what kind of fixtures to use and how to get the job done without cutting too many holes in the walls. He was also very responsive and had a quick turnaround in getting me a bid. The actual work went smoothly. The electricians were conscientious about not disturbing our old plaster too much and cleaning up as they went. They put in a 10 hour day in the middle of the job to make sure we would have lights upstairs overnight when they were halfway through rewiring some circuits. They used good quality materials throughout and double checked all their work. The only concerns I had with Square 1 were more on the paperwork side of things. The estimate I got was not very detailed. Since I had provided a detailed list of work I felt okay about that but otherwise I'd worry about miscommunication about work to be done. Also it took a little longer than expected to get the permit opened and to get the final inspection taken care of. I don't know how much of that was city bureaucracy vs. Square 1 not having a big staff to deal with that side of things. Ultimately I got the work that I wanted done in a professional manner and for a very good price, so I would definitely call Square 1 again.

The electrical failed on New Years Eve which left the majority of the house without power. Kurt sent one his guys over immediately to see if it was a quick fix. While we could have potentially put a band-aid on the old electrical, we decided to upgrade the electrical. Kurt sent his team over on New Years day so that we could have power over the long weekend. They showed up on time and worked for 2.5 days to get the job done. Great group of guys that were extra careful cutting into the old Lath and plaster so that we would have limited patchwork. Kurt gave us an extremely reasonable quote and guaranteed that he would not go over it. He stuck to his word. The job was done well and I highly recommend Kurt and his team if you are in need of electrical work.

Everything went very well - the gentleman who gave us an estimate was very prompt and professional. The electrician who did the work got it all done much sooner than expected - we were told it would take all day and it just took 3 hours. He was very thorough and professional. I would not hesitate to use Square 1 Electrical in the future.

Kurt was called on Monday afternoon to have someone, preferably him, to come out to reroute a light switch in our basement. He did call back right away, and said that he could have someone out at 8:00 Tuesday (the next morning). My husband was here at the time. Kurt rerouted the switch. We had to pay for a permit. The work was completed within the hour. ($75.00 for the work, and $45.00 for the permit.) My husband reported, "Fast response, Very professional. Worked quickly. Very happy with Kurt."

I found Square 1 on Angie's List and contacted them regarding inoperable heaters at a rental house. They were very prompt at returning my call and contacting the tenant to arrange a time to fix the heaters. They showed up as promised and were very professional.

They did a really good job. What I really liked was that they gave a detailed bid. A lot of the work required some investigation because it wasn?t new wiring and they had to figure out what the problem was. They stuck to their bid. We made one change, so they did a change order that was very reasonable. They were very reliable.

We got an Angie's List discount. They were great. They were reasonable, hard working friendly and helpful.

He was pleasant but not overly talkative and answered all questions adequately. Did not leave a mess. Very professional and out within an hour. Very accommodating with scheduling--we have an odd work schedule. We would use this company again.

We got interested in installing a whole house fan to help cool down our upstairs on hot days. The problem is that we don't have a big attic to vent to, but mainly vaulted ceilings. Kurt came out to take a look at our situation and came up with an unorthodox solution that would work with our house set-up. He suggested to install an attic fan in the small attic and air intake vents to the living room and master bed room to pull hot air out and let cool air come in at night thorugh the windows. He also replaced our old electric panel that was one of these dangerous old ones. Everything went very well. They installed everything within a day. They did a thorough job and cleaned up after them. The fan solution works great. We could test it with a few dyas in the 90s right after installation. Compared to another company that came out that had many years of experience, Kurt had fresh and innovative ideas and seemed to have a good grasp of current eco-friendly solutions. That's why we chose him although he has only had his business for a couple of years.

We returned from a trip to find a water pipe leaking in our basement. When a plumber replaced the leaky galvanized pipe with a piece of pex pipe, none of us realized that his actions broke the electric ground. Ultimately, our water heater, soaked from another leak, burst into flames. When the water heater people tried to hook up the new one, sparks flew and blew out a circuit panel. Kurt at the time was working for the electric company recommended to us by the water heater people. We were so impressed with his knowledge, efficiency and pleasant nature. At one point Kurt called his boss to tell him what he was doing, and we could hear his side of their argument. This happened a couple more times before the boss came to inspect the work. The boss apologized to Kurt, seeing that Kurt's work plan was the best way to proceed. During all of this Kurt maintained his quiet demeanor. Because we were so impressed with him, we asked Kurt to bring his business card when he started his own business. When we called, he came by, told us how much it would cost to finish the job and made an appointment for the next week. Again he worked efficiently, finishing the job within the day. We feel confident and comfortable that if we have an emergency or other electrical work to be done, he would be readily available to help.
