Response from Square 1 Electric
We are very sorry this was the feeling of the Member. We gave the client an estimate of time and material that the project would take. We were very clear and upfront on our pricing and the hourly charge for each of our electricians. We are priced very competitively for the Portland metro area. The client called us back that evening to hire us to do the project. Once we were there the client had us do extra work that was not originally apart of the bid. We actually spent less man hours on the project than what was originally discussed, which in turn saved the client some money. Although it may seemed like it may have been an easy job, "Simple electrical - moving outlets and installing scones, etc." it was not. We were doing work in an old home (1907) with lath and plaster walls. We preformed a quality job so as not to cause damage to the walls. That in turn would have just cost the client more money and time. We realized this when we went to look at the project and give a bid. The extra time it would take was factored into the total bid price. The client was present during the entire job and saw the work being done. If he was unhappy at that time he did not let our company know nor gave us the opportunity to discuss the matter. As always customer service is Square 1 Electric's top priority, we did try doing everything we possibly could to rectify the situation with the client. Although we did come in at less monies than originally agreed upon and did a quality job, the client still was unhappy.
