We never used this company because they never returned our calls.

called early since prior appt finished early and arrived a few minutes later. i had already replaced the tripping breaker but called since i couldn't find the problem. he checked all the outlets, narrowed it down to one but couldn't determine where that specific outlet was connected to that was causing the trip. i decided i didn't really need that outlet to work, so he capped the wire and all the other outlets were working. the repairman suggested that later on when i try to use another outlet in the house it may be the problem and i can determine then if i need additional repairs.

I purchased one bathroom fan replacement and was very happy with both the new product and the installation. Scheduling the job was very easy and the office staff helpful and professional. When the electrician came out and installed the fan I was so pleased with the result that I asked him if he wanted to come back and replace my other two fans. He asked if I wanted to do it right then, as he had a couple more units on the truck. He quickly checked with the office to confirm there was time in his schedule. I was pleasantly suprised to have all three of my old noisy fans replaced with new high efficiency quiet ones. The electrician was very professional and pleasant. He did an excellent job of modifying the ceiling holes to fit the new models. The job was completed quickly and he cleaned up after he was finished. I am very pleased with the result and would definitely use this contractor again.

The installer was extremely profession, took off his shoes, cleaned up his mess. Got here on time. Worked hard to ensure there wouldn't be any add'l patch work that we would need to do later as our old fan was up next to our sky light. Would definitely use again! Plan on calling in near future to have them fix some wiring issues.

This is the second time I have used SQ1. The first time was a total kitchen remodel. This time was a new vent and heat lamp in the bathroom. Both jobs were exceptional. The electrician was on time and very professional. He worked quickly and efficiently and cleaned the work area before leaving. I have some drywall repair to do but I knew that before the job was started. I will definitely use SQ1 for future electrical needs.

Great! The service was quickly performed by a cheerful, competent plumber. The fan was provided as part of the service price.

A little slow scheduling, but i think they were swamped with Angie's List members taking advantage of their offer. They showed up when scheduled though, and got the job done with no fuss. They could have been, maybe, 5% neater about the installation but it was more than good enough, especially for the price.

Mitch arrived on time and reveiwed all options carfully with me so I could reach a decision on the correct installation, which was then performed quickly adn professionally. We love the new fan and the service!

I am very satisfied with the performance of the gentlemen who installed my bathroom ceiling fan. I forgot his name and it is not on the receipt. He was very professional and did not waste time installing the fan. He was also extremely personable.

The electrician was prompt, professional, and installed my ceiling fan and additional remote feature in the wall in less than an hour. Great job!

Our first contact with SQ1 was a midday home inspection. The employee showed us the causes of the problems we were having and explained what we should do about them. We scheduled work for the following Wednesday, and paid half of the price up-front. SQ1 arrived at 8am exactly as promised; although we were told to expect the power to be out by nine, we actually had power from the old box a little longer than that; on account of the cold, they avoided interrupting the power until it was absolutely necessary. They recommended unplugging all sensitive electronics to avoid the inevitable surge when the new box came online, and we did so. In doing so, we discovered a burned outlet that we had not previously been aware of. We left our holiday lights plugged in, largely so that we would know when the power came back on. Construction is always noisy, and the installation of a central grounding system is no exception; that said, SQ1's employees were considerate and polite. They asked permission before using facilities, and kept our doors closed as much as possible to conserve heat and keep our indoor pets indoors. They ran wires down from the attic and up from the basement; although they never had to cut into our walls, they discussed with us ahead of time what our preferences would be if this became necessary. Along the way, they showed interest in hearing our "story" of what our electricity had been doing before, and answered the questions we had simply and patiently. Our power came back on, for the most part, around 3pm. They notified us immediately, although we had already noticed thanks to our holiday lights. They informed us that some circuits were still down, but that anything that was on at this point would stay on - so we proceeded to plug in some necessaries and not-so-necessaries. Our home network was back up and running within a few minutes. We busied ourselves with resetting clocks and other such tasks while the crew finished work on the kitchen GFCI circuit, which was predictably the last to come up. While the crew was replacing sockets in the dining room, they also replaced the socket that I had discovered burned during the earlier part of the day, at no extra charge. One of the lights downstairs, which had stopped working prior to the repair, did not come back on as we had hoped it would. The crew tested it and identified the problem - a faulty ballast in the light fixture itself, which we will replace at our own convenience. They confirmed that the wiring "upstream" from the fixture is good, so replacement will solve the problem. The crew was done about 4pm, and left no mess behind. SQ1 called us later that evening to confirm our satisfaction and make arrangements to pay the remainder of our bill.

Took them up on an Angies List Special - replace a bathroom exhaust fan - and wish I'd gone in for two at the time! Mitch was great - not only handled an un-suspected challenge in the switch out with skill and grace, he was full of terrific advice on other questions I had as well. Would/will do this again in a heartbeat should such an offer re-appear from this company. Many thanks.

The Big Deal should have specified exactly what kind of fan was being offered. But, that said, I got a replacement wall fan installed (which took a little extra work) for the price of the original deal and the county permit. Good job. And the electrician (Jared) was very accommodating and helpful.

I was shocked at what he charged me. He was there for two hours and he charged me $180. The guy was good it was just that I didn’t expect to pay $90 an hour.

They did some rewiring and fixed the issue. They did not try to upsell us and were very helpful and responsive.

They arrived on time, and fished in the amount of time they said. They were very courteous, professional, and cleaned up after themselves.

Updated Review - now with "thumbs up" for excellent customer service. Bought a "Big Deal" coupon and called for appointment. Realized that I should have bought quantity two, one for each bathroom. Appointment booker said no problem, just write a check for the second fan on the day. I appreciated that. Good sign. Electrician called on the day and offered to come early. That worked for me (less time away from work). Jared was a pleasant and competent young man, friendly and hard-working. He warned me that the smaller bathroom install would be more difficult and require drywall patching and repair to the ceiling since there was no attic access from above. We agreed he should start with the simpler of the two installs - the one with attic access. After the old fan had been cut out of the ceiling and the new one was installed I noticed it was not the brand of fan I had been expecting. I was concerned about this and asked him not to install the second fan in the other bathroom. I was unhappy and gave the company only average marks, with the downgrade due to my disappointment regarding the brand and model of fan. I received a call from the owner who made it very clear that his goal was a satisfied customer. He did not try to discount my concerns in any way. I accepted his offer to have a look at my install situation and see if he could find a fan that would make me happier than the one they are using. After meeting Kurt I was impressed. He clearly takes pride in his work and company. He made a proposal that (far) exceeded my expectations, returning to personally install the exact fan I had originally wanted. He did a meticulous job of it, the fan is top notch, and his terms were so favorable to me that I don't feel like I should even mention them. I will say that I felt both confident and happy to hire Square 1 immediately for a second job under normal non-coupon terms. A lot of times working with contractors and service professionals has left me feeling slightly compromised. In this case I feel that I got more than my money's worth. It's nice to work with someone who has a lot of pride in their work and business. I think it's well-earned.

I purchased the installation of two bathroom fans via an Angie's List special. They promptly contacted me to schedule the install and were flexible so it fit my schedule. I chose an 8:00 appointment and they arrived on time. The installation took a little over two hours. The installer was pleasant, worked diligently, and cleaned up completely when done. I will use them again.

from the moment the electrician arrive my husband was so impressed with the professional matter and the fact that he went right to work and found the problem within minutes. he describe our problem and some solutions that we could do. my husband talked with him and told him to just "make it right" whatever that takes. he did an excellent job, change some wiring through the ceiling down to the switch, and we did not have to have any addition holes in the sheet rock. while he was there we replaced the stove in the home and found that there was an electrical outlet that needed to be moved. the gentleman did that for us as well. we are very pleased with all of the work, and the fact that he was courteous and all of my husband questions. A+ is what we rate the company. we will be using this company for many years to come in both our rental issues, and anything that may come up in our home as well.

Mitch was to arrive at 10:00 AM; however he called at 9:30 AM to advise me that his first job of the day was going to take an additioal hour and that he would be here at 11:00AM. I said that would be just fine. He arrived at 10:55, on time. We discussed in detail my written notes that outlined what needed to be done. Through the next four and half hours we were in constant communication about what he was doing , explaining various options that I could chose to accomplish certain tasks without incurring unnecessary expense. Mitch is very friendly, out going and an excellent communicator. He is an skilled electrician, fully knowledgeable not only of current codes, but the history of how the codes have changed over the the years, which allowed him, for example, to discover quickly what was wrong with the GFI system. When I consider how much Mitch accomplished, I feel that I have received more than my money's worth. I will have Mitch back next spring to install power to a outdoor water fall and decorative yard lighting. For any future electrical needs, I will call only Square 1 Electrical.

They are really good communicators. They helped us figure out what we needed done and why, but didn’t push us to do it. They were very friendly, fast and efficient.

Kurt arrived on time (actually early), and after some questions, began the installation. There was an initial misunderstanding about the number of cans needed, but Kurt made a call and they were promptly delivered with no delay of the project. Kurt was very friendly, explained exactly what he was going to do, and would ask questions regarding the detail of the can placements when he encountered an obstacle. He gave me multiple options whenever possible. He cleaned up very well before leaving. The misunderstanding about the total number of cans that need to be installed, resulted in a higher price than initially quoted, but Kurt made it right. He truly cares about customer satisfaction! I plan to have him do some additional work in the near future.
