Square 1 Electric

I called Square 1 Electric to set up the appointment. Robert arrived on time, looked at the place I wanted to have the fan installed and because there had been an existing light fixture there that had been removed and electrical wires were still there, the fan was put together and I was enjoying the fan about an hour later. I was VERY impressed with Square 1. Their telephone communication was professional, friendly and polite. Robert the electrician was an extremely nice young man who knew his stuff. He put the fan together, installed it and since it was a fan with a light, variable speeds, he carefully went over the various bottons on the wall switch with me so I was sure I knew how to run it. At that point I saw some sheet rock dust on the carpet below the installed wall switch. So I thought I would get my vacuum out after he left just to vacuum the dust up. But after Robert was completely through, he packed up all the packaging from the various parts of the fan, removed them from the house and took them out to his truck. When he came back in he had a portable vacuum and low and behold, he vacuumed up the sheet rock dust. This may not be that unusual but when I had another electrician at my house who put in a new electrical panel in my garage and made an absolute mess with little peices of sheet rock and dust all over the counter and the floor below and when I asked if he cleaned up, his comment was "lady, you don't want to pay electrician wages for my time to clean up." So did this other company practice the standard? I would like to think Square 1's professionalism IS the standard. But whether it is or isn't, I will definately call Square 1 back the next time I have any electrical needs.

Fantastic. Easy. He checked up in the attic and located the source of the buzzing from the doorbell transformer, and then climbed back down and cut the power from the breaker. The buzzing was gone. He then disconnected the wires and I helped make sure the buzzer was disconnected after the breaker was flipped back. He kept the wiring in place in case someone down the line wants to solve the vibration problem for a wired doorbell. He told me my options and where I could get a wireless doorbell to replace it. It was quick, easy, and a pleasant experience.

Showed up on time and replaced the bathroom fan and fixed our dining room light....did a great job, cleaned up after the projects were finished

The folks at Square 1 Electric were perfect for our project. It was easy to get someone out to perform the work. They installed a high celling fan and some high lights in the entryway, as well as added an extra circuit and plugs in the garage. I took advantage of a coupon and some added cost for the extra circuit and plugs. I am very pleased with the professional installation.

The electrician arrived on time, had covers on his shoes for walking in my house, installed the fan in no time and his clean up was impeccable. He answered all my questions with patience and respect. When I made the appointment, the scheduler was very clear that I would have to pay an extra $45.00 for a electrical permit so I knew what I was getting into. The fan runs quietly and is very effective. Just what I wanted.

Two men showed up on time and got right to work. They figured out which of their tall ladders would work, got that ladder into the entry, took down the existing chandelier, and replaced with the new chandelier. They also put in new light bulbs.

Installed both fans timely and professionally.

The technician arrived on time, was very friendly and left absolutely no mess at all. I have been very pleased with their service both times I have purchased a 'Big Deal' with them.

We had a porch light that was causing the breaker to trip. Square 1 Electric came and determined the porch light needed to be replaced. While they were here, we asked about getting a floor outlet installed. The repairman said that would be easy to do, since we had plenty of crawl space available and another electrical outlet nearby. So we agreed to get a new porch light and floor plug and then call to re-schedule a visit, which we did. On the second visit they installed the porch light and the floor plug. They did a good job, but it took longer than we thought it would. We ended up paying for two hours for the first visit, and almost five hours for a second visit for a total of almost $700. It just turned out to be a lot more money than we were planning on spending. Had we known up front that it would take so long to install the floor plug, we probably would not have had it installed.

We recently purchased a new home and in getting the home repiped (pex) we required a new ground for the house along with a myriad of other items that were improperly wired by the previous home owner. The Square One team worked within our budget and helped us to address the immediate items at hand. I highly recomend Square One Electric, we will not hesitate on calling them for any future work.

On the date set for the installation, the company called in plenty of time to let me know that the installer was still working on installing fans at another location and that there had been some set backs. They offered to come later the same day or the following day and I got to choose the time. I chose a time of 3:40 and it worked out well. Their Staff explained that there was an additional charge of $45 for the State Electrical Permit - and they put a sticker inside the electrical box noting when the fan was changed and by who. That's surely nice for the next owner and piece of mind for us...so the extra $45 took my rating on Price from excellent to good (or very good). Polite young man - experienced a bit of difficulty replacing and re-fitting the old 35 year old fan - but finished the job in good time and the fan works well - and it's QUIET! Only down side - Could have cleaned debris up a bit more afterwards - but I would use the service again. And if you had a rating between Good and Excellent - like Very Good - I would have used that grade.

The installer was on time, pleasant and helpful. The new fans are quieter and more powerful. While installing one, he tore a little sheet rock. When I mentioned it, he explained how to fix it, and offered to do it if I could provide the glue and spackle, which I did. I also asked about the feasibiity of installing ceiling fans in the master bathroom. He took the time to analyze and explain how it could be done, although not too easily (because the ceiling is cathedral with no attic). I do wish the fan covers had a choice of colors, since the new white ones are much more obvious than the old off-white ones, which blended in with the ceiling color.

I upgraded the fan as the one on the deal turned out to be a low end fan. The cost to upgrade was $150. That is $20 more than I could have purchased the upgraded fan directly from the distributor. I essentiall got no $$ credit for the original fan. The installation went OK but the cleanup was very poor. The installer had to trim the drywall and we had a drywall mess all over the bathroom. I asked the installer twice to clean it up better but he didn't have a hose for his vacuum so there is only so much you can do with a dustpan and brush. The new fan looks and works great.

Called Kurt Prewitt (owner) to see if we could get an electrician out to our house before it closes in 2 weeks. Offered to come out the day I phoned, but I had to work and was unable to accommodate such a timely response. He then suggested Tuesday am at 8 o'clock. Robert Harwood (?sp) arrived promptly at 8 am and got right to work. He was able to sort out the mess of wires in the switch panel. He tracked and re-routed the wires to their appropriate location. Also looked at our outdoor light fixture, which also wasn't working and found that the "guts" had been removed, but the wires were working. He cleaned up the slight mess that was made before he left. Ended up not charging us for an electrical permit as it was a "trouble shooting" call, and nothing was added or removed. He was honest, explained things as he went, and was very polite.

Great. Person showed up on time. Explained procedure. Set up work station and took down old ceiling fan. Then he inserted new upgraded ceiling fan. Hooked up electric and finished job. Cleaned up mess and was done.

Kurt Prewitt called ahead of time and asked if he could come earlier than scheduled, and I said yes. After I showed him the light fixtures that needed replacing, he worked efficiently and skillfully, replacing the fixtures quickly. He was pleasant, professional, and he gave me good advice about a bathroom fan that I was considering replacing. I was very happy with his work.

He could not find me the replacement sink I needed. So I went to George Morgan plumbing, bought the new sink, brought it home, took photos and sent him the info he needed to come and do the job.

It worked out very well. The electrician was polite, punctual and did as was promised!

He added an ON/OFF switch, for my 14 outdoor light fixtures, the lights were not working he did some trobleshooting, connected some light fixures and made it all work.

Very pleased with the work. We had originally been unwilling to have Sq 1 relocate the fan as it would leave a hole where the old fan had to be removed. Later decided it was worth it so had fan replaced. New fan is so much quieter and much more efficient than the old one. Painter will do repairs of holes left when fan replaced. Feel this was a good deal for the price.

The work was done very well, exactly as I specified, and I'm happy with the quality. The price was somewhat higher than other companies charge for the same service, but not unreasonable. The electrician was also very kind to consult with me on some other changes that I want to make (for a charge of course).

fWas here for just a short time...less than an hour. Tried to charge me $300. When I balked, he lowered it to $275. Still far more than should have been. It seemed as if he was making up the charges. Then I find out he has completed the minimal requirements needed on the project. I will bring another electrician out to complete the work. Square One was clearly not keeping my desired outcomes in mind. March 2013 As said above, the work was overpriced because the pre-inspection work was not completed. Since this is the company who started work on the permit, we called them back in March 2013 and had a much better experience which has improved our rating for the company. The fellow who came out the first time is no longer with the company. This time, they worked with us to complete the work requested by inspector so that we are able to move on with our remodeling project. Very professional and very willing to work with us. However, I was disappointed that they didn't give us a break on price on their second service, since their first guy overcharged for what he did. As a result, I ended up paying them a lot more for two trips than I would have if they had completed all the work in one trip.

I needed to replace a ceiling fan in a bedroom with a vaulted ceiling. I purchased a coupon from Angie's List to have the fan installed for $99. I called Square One Electric and asked about what I should look for to purchase a fan installed on a vaulted ceiling and the girl told me what to do. I bought the fan, called Square One and made the appointment. The electrician arrived on time and installed the fan. I appreciated a call from the electrician after the installation was complete telling me everything went well because this was on a rental.

The experience was easy. We were in the market for a new bathroom fan when (lucky us) Square 1 had a special for Angie's List members. The person I dealt with (Holly, I believe) was very helpful in helping to find a fan that fit our needs. She also helped me to reschedule the appointment once because I had to be out of town. On the day of the installation, the installer Robert ran late because of a previous job, but called 30 minutes before he was due to warn me and to ask if Ii needed to reschedule. When he arrived he was courteous, patient with our yappy dog, and did the job in less than an hour. We love having a new (quiet) fan that seems to be doing a much better job of changing the air than did the decades old fan we had replaced.

The installation went well. The fan works well. There was an extra charge of $45 for a minor electric permit which had not been explained to me previously. But it's nice to have a working fan.
