"I've had other construction things done for my business and other homes and he has been the best contractor I've ever had. When he builds something he builds it a little bit stronger and up to code and saves you money in the long run. He really works with you and he is a top notch contractor that can do anything!"

"I was in a super jam on May 16th, the day before moving day and nearly in tears stressed out. I also just had massive ankle surgery and could not do anything to help. Everyone who had promised to help went crickets. So I called Higher Ground Moving at the last minute. Nate Becker didn’t bat an eyelash and said he could be there 8-11 AM. So I moved the truck pickup up a couple hours. Nate was right on time and got cracking. Him and one other guy had the truck loaded like Tetris masters with all my valuables, furniture, and boxes tended to like their very own. He made me feel so much better with a super smile and happy go lucky attitude. I had zero moving casualties on the other end. And to give you an idea, I had a 26 foot truck packed to the gills top to bottom front to back. A 7.5 hour drive on less than smooth roads, extremely bumpy at times, absolutely nothing shifted. And to make everything so much better, he was way more affordable than I could have ever imagined. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH!!! Higher Ground Moving rocks! Definitely give them a call if you are looking for a great moving company in Bend."

Snow Removal questions, answered by experts

Snowblowers are some of the best tools for snow removal because they remove large amounts of snow quickly without bodily harm or damaging your deck. If your snowblower can fit on your deck, it’s a good first line of defense to remove snow quickly and easily. If you don’t have a snowblower, a plastic shovel with a rubber blade is another good choice to remove snow on a deck.

Yes—in fact, it’s an important step in how to start a snow blower. Allowing the engine to idle for a few minutes prior to using a snow blower helps it reach its optimal operating temperature, which gets the fuel running properly, improves its performance, and helps prevent stalling during frigid weather.

Removal typically takes 30 minutes to 1 hour per item, depending on accessibility and size.

Yes, and they do it exceptionally well. Heated roof cables have two purposes: melting snow and preventing ice buildup. Ice damming happens when ice forms on the roof (usually where the roof meets the gutter) and melts stubbornly slowly, causing moisture to enter the roof itself and, therefore, the home.

Yes, but it works best with lightweight snowblowers, the single-stage models or electric versions. Also, you need to have a rubberized intake edge on the ground and preferably rubberized auger paddles, not a metal version. Otherwise you may chip or damage the surface as you work. When it doubt, let the snow lie.

You can also use a snow blower on leveled gravel, but only if you carefully adjust the intake height so it doesn’t kick up the gravel and turn it into flying missiles.
