"Charlie and the guys at Sheppard concrete were fantastic, and the extension on our patio looks great. They did a lot of extra things to ensure our patio looked good and lasts for years to come."

"My husband told him repeatedly that we had a deadline and that a cargo container home would be put on it. When it came down to it he continued to tell us it would be no problem to get it done, but then by the time he got it done there were just 2 days until the house was supposed to be delivered, and we had to wait 5 days for the concrete to cure. As a result comment, the house could not be delivered and now we are into the 2nd week still trying to figure out when it can be delivered. Also, that put us behind with having the water hooked up the septic tank being could IN the electricity being put out there all because he did not pay attention to what the customer told him to do."

"It went very well. We have a crawl space under our house and they put a series of concrete blocks and wooden beams under our floor to raise part of our house back up. They were very professional and friendly. We have used them in the past and they did a great job then. If we have any more foundation problems on any other house in the future, we will definitely use them in the future.

"After a previous bad experience with a contractor, Creative Concrete Construction worked 10hr days on the weekend before a holiday because they were concerned with customer service and the outcome. They sat in a class to learn how to do the work and use the materials the correct way. Not only did they do a great job, they cleaned up after their work, they didn't leave any damage and I now have the most beautiful floors! I could not be happier with the services provided and the crew that he brought it. He knew exactly what he was doing. I would recommend him to absolutely everyone!"

Small jobs welcome

"Felix (the owner of Toros) and his crew do a great job on whatever task we set forth for him. His crew does great work. I have hired him for three separate tasks so far, and I address each below. Lawn maintenance- I’ve had Felix cutting my lawn for a little over two years and they go above and beyond. Making sure to address any concerns and anticipating our needs. He provides great customer service and my yard always looks great after he is finished. French drain - Felix and his crew were able to work within a very tight area as the area we needed the French drain ran parallel to the easement at my property. Due to this he was able to work around that area in a safe manner ensuring no issues for me or any other utilities and came up with solutions when we had some issues. The French drain has worked great since he has put it in and it is allowing a muddy mess in our yard to grow grass and help prevent any foundation issues from run off from my neighbors house. Landscaping - Felix did great work getting our landscaping made how my wife and I wanted it. He took what we wanted and ran from there and helped us drill down to what we actually wanted. After he assisted us on this we scheduled a time and him and his crew came out and got it done in about two days. We love the way our new landscaping looks and due to some damage to our plants from the roofers who worked our roof I will be getting with him to work some more on the landscaping."

Concrete Cutting questions, answered by experts

Yes, you can cut up a box spring., but you’ll need to do so in layers. You can clear the fabric and fluff away to reveal the springs before removing them as well.

Cutting round ductwork requires precision and the right tools. A duct cutter, specifically designed for circular ducts, is ideal. First, mark the cutting line on the duct using a measuring tape and pencil. Then, position the duct cutter's blade on the marked line. Apply steady pressure, rotating the cutter around the duct. The sharp blade creates a clean, precise cut. Alternatively, a reciprocating saw with a metal-cutting blade can be used for larger round ducts. Ensure the duct is securely held in place while making the cut to prevent slips and maintain accuracy.

Professional metal fabricators typically charge around $70 per hour, but the total cost of your project will depend on several factors. The largest cost drivers are the size, complexity, and design of the project, as well as the price and type of metal used. A good way to estimate the total cost is to multiply the cost of raw materials by four; typically, one-quarter of the total goes toward materials and three-quarters toward labor. Your geographic location can also influence costs, as labor and material prices vary by region.

This all depends on the tools you have on hand and whether you’re trying to cut a straight line or shapes.

The best tool to use for straight lines is either a circular saw or table saw. When cutting shapes, a jigsaw will be the easiest and most precise tool to use.

Since water heaters are primarily made of metal, they’re commonly accepted by scrap yards and collectors. Don’t expect to fetch a high price, though—water heaters are mostly steel and aluminum, which aren’t high-value metals. Some components are made of more valuable metals, like brass and copper, but they’re a small portion of the heater and won’t affect the price much.
