Stay away from using window cleaners and other harsh cleaning solutions on antique wood—or any wood in your home for that matter. Wood filler can be used to repair minor scratches, dents, and damages on wood veneer. Simply scrape the wood filler over the chipped or scratched area. Make sure to leave a little bit more than you need so you can sand it down for a smoother finish. Repaint or restrain the surface to ensure a consistent color.
