"WOW!Arrived at the exact time planned. Looked at the entire existing system and went to work. They cleaned from the roof top down to the dryer connection duct and even the screen in the dryer and then cleaned up everything before leaving. The dryer now dries in 25% of the previous required time and the dryers heating unit didn't have to be replaced. We couldn't be more pleased."

"I inquired about having my dryer vent cleaned around 8 am and he was at my house at 915 am to start on it. Extremely prompt and great customer service. When I inquired I figured it would be at least next week before I could get anyone out and he went well above expectations to come out as soon as possible."

Dryer Vent Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Depending on how much you use it, your dryer should be disinfected about every six to 12 months, especially if you see frequent buildup of lint or evidence of stains from fabric bleeding or ink.

Other signs you should sanitize your dryer more often are overheating, improper drying, excessive humidity, or if you notice a strange odor when it’s running.

There are a few things you can look out for that indicate it’s time to clean your dryer vent, including the following:

  • It has been a year or more since the last professional cleaning.

  • Your clothes are taking longer to dry than usual.

  • Your clothes smell musty or burnt when they come out of the dryer.

  • You see lint building up around the outside dryer vent cap.

  • Your laundry room is unusually hot.

  • Your dryer is unusually hot to the touch during operation.

  • You notice a kink in or damage to the vent.

Your dryer vent hose should be as straight as you can possibly get it. A straight vent means less lint buildup in the hose. If the hose has a lot of bends and turns, it’s much easier and much more likely for lint to get stuck along the line, meaning you’ll have to clean it out a lot more often to decrease the risk of a total blockage or a fire.

A dryer vent inspection is simply the process of checking the vent for the possibility of damage or clogs. You can do it yourself or hire a pro. Pull the dryer away from the wall and inspect the portion of the vent that’s behind the appliance for lint buildup or kinks. Check the connection of the vent to the wall for loose parts or lint that’s escaping the vent. Check the exterior exhaust vent for signs of damage or lint blockage. A pro can check the length of the vent inside the wall for you.

Signs include longer drying cycles, a burning smell, excess lint behind the dryer, and the vent hood not opening properly.
