We are proud to provide a service that no other company offers; Dedicated Trucks. This means that your belongings are loaded on the truck and not combined with anyone else’s items (from/to west coast only). They are not transferred to other trucks or facilities in route which causes damage and loss of items (typical with van lines). We have a set loading day and unloading day. This is by far the safest way to ship. Our interstate rates are per 24ft moving van that holds up to 8,500lbs or 1400CuFt. Some customers require one truck and some require more. One truck holds the average 1800SqFt.

Start by removing any obstacles in the moving path, such as side tables, lamps, or other furniture. If your couch has legs, unscrew them. Measure the couch and the stairway to ensure you have enough room; if it seems unlikely, examine the shape and size of the couch and decide whether it might fit better up the stairway and through doorways on its side, held diagonally, or moved in an upright position.

Consider putting the sofa on a dolly to go up the stairs. It should be able to fit upright on a standard dolly with wheels. You’ll still need to lift the dolly—with the couch on it—up the stairs, but it will reduce the physical strain. The person holding the dolly should pull the couch up, while the helper should be on the other side, keeping the couch secure and steady.

If you don’t have a dolly, the person in front should lift the couch slightly higher than the person in the back to create more stability. The person in the back should also be the stronger mover, as most of the weight will be distributed there.

To treat office moving costs as capital expenses, which means recording them as assets, they must meet certain rules: they need to be essential for the business to keep running, directly related to the move, reasonable, and documented properly with invoices and contracts. These costs can include packing, transportation, and setting up the new office. Once these expenses are capitalized, they're treated like assets on the books and gradually accounted for over time through depreciation or amortization.

Hiring movers to help during a move can take a load off your shoulders, but you might still want to cut costs where possible. A few ways to help save money while hiring movers include:

  • Moving during the off-season (typically from October through April) when rates tend to be lower

  • Move during the week to avoid any weekend surcharges

  • Seek out moving supplies from friends and family—they might have all the tools you need!

  • Store boxes and bubble wrap for the next big move if you move frequently

  • Use towels and clothes to wrap breakables

  • Use suitcases to pack belongings

  • Ask the moving company about special coupons or deals 

For a long trip, it is less expensive to schedule a one-way rental since you're driving fewer miles. Plus, it's usually not feasible to move across the country and then drive the vehicle back to where you got it. However, a round-trip option makes more sense if you're moving in town.
