Description of Work: Action Vacuum sucks! and I don't mean dirt! In 2007 I had a house built by Bob Schmitt homes in North Ridgeville. The Builder introduced me to the central vacuum system, which I thought I would like. Through the builder Action Vacuum advised me not to get the retractable hose unit because we had kids and dogs etc-the suction would be best with the hose I attach to wall units. Over the years I have made 3 trips to their store looking for help-the unit does not work at the far end of the hall-at all-I was told by them that a house visit would cost $80 and I should try to remove the suspected "object" myself by getting another heavy duty vacuum to do a reverse suction with-which we did-which did not work-because that is not the problem. Subsequent visits have proved futile in getting their help-I would pay the fee for them to come to my house but they don't want to-the last visit ended with the shorter of the 2 guys telling me that animal hair was getting stuck in the shaft of the floor vacuum because the suction was bad-yes-why is the suction bad-I have reverse suctioned all units-well-he does not know-until we are leaving upset does he say-or if you have a 2 motor unit it could be one of the 2 motors is bad-to which I said-"and how will I know that" to which he replied "you won't we would need to come out to your house"! WOW! if only we had thought of that earlier. (I had a cleaning company for quite some time before-they brought their own vacuum that is why I am not sure when the problem actually started). I still have the problem-can anyone help!

 + -1 moreEverything turned out great. As the old saying goes, "they don't make them like them used to."
Description of Work: I have a vacuum cleaner that I inherited that is probably 40-50 years old. The brand new belt on my vacuum was chewed up and broken. I took the vacuum to the shop where he replaced the brush roller and the belt. As he tested the machine, he found rabbit cage straw jammed up inside the vacuum. He took needle nose pliers, cleaned everything out, made sure the bag was properly in place, and I was vacuuming with my wonderful vacuum cleaner.

 + -1 moreMy spouse wanted a light weight vacuum to replace her 'heavyweight' vacuum made by a company based in Canton, Ohio. She was pleased with the job her old vacuum did but was tiring of lugging it up and down stairs in our two story home. She wanted a lighter weight machine. We went to reviews made by a national consumer rating publication. They identified one vacuum that was very light weight and did a very good cleaning job. We then went to the manufacturers website and identified dealers in Ohio. This machine is sold in a limited number of vacuum specialty stores - you won't find it in the mass retailers. Fortunately for us, Action Vacuum was running a sales promotion on the model we were most interested in. We have been most pleased with its performance and light weight. Yearly machine maintenance was part of the sales package. We just took the machine in and Jeff lubricated the machine and changed the belt with a one hour turn around time. We highly recommend this local merchant for high end vacuum cleaners or systems.

 + -1 moreMy vacuum is absolutely the best vacuum cleaner I have ever had-it's very worth it! I have all wooden floors and it does a great job on the wood.
Description of Work: I bought a vacuum sweeper years ago from him. I could not find a part of it. I didn't want to purchase a whole new set of parts. He found the part that I needed and did not charge me for the repair.

 + -1 moreI took sweeper to their store for service because it was making a loud noise like something grating inside. Jeff said it didn't sound like the motor, so that was a good thing. I picked it up a few days later and he said they cleaned it up and replaced the belt. When I got it home it was still making the same noise. So I took it back and talked with Jeff again. This time I turned it on myself to demonstrate the noise. Right away he suspected the roller bar which he immediately replaced for the cost of the part. The sweeper works fine now. The first time I went there, I made the assumption that they would run the sweeper to see what the noise might be. Now it seems to me they never turned it on again and just automatically cleaned it. I really don't mind having paid for the sweeper to be cleaned (which it didn't need), but I feel it should have been fixed the first time. Next time I will insist on demonstrating the problem as carefully as possible so they better understand what needs to be done.

 + -1 moreI visited Action Vacuum on a Saturday to talk about installing a central vacuum in our existing house. Essentially, the man at the desk (the installer) said it couldn't be done. I thought that was a bit presumptuous, and invited him to see the home or at least look at the blueprints. We scheduled a visit for 9 AM Tuesday, and I specifically arranged to work from home that day. He never showed up, never called at all. I called Action Vacuum, and actually spoke to the owner. While the appointment was scheduled, the installer went fishing instead and told no one. The owner apologized and promised to have someone visit the next Saturday. No one called for an appointment, and no one showed up that Saturday. Needless to say, we'll be taking our business elsewhere.
Description of Work: No work was performed, because Action Vacuum neglected to make an effort to earn any business whatsoever.

 + -1 moreTHEY HAD A FAIR PRICE, LOWER THAN COMPETITION. THEY WERE VERY TIMELY. THEY SAID IT WOULD BE READY BY FRIDAY AND WAS DONE ON WEDNESDAY. THERE WAS ONE EXCEPTION WITH THE RUBBER RING. IT BROKE RIGHT AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE. I DON'T KNOW IF HE SAW IT WAS WORN AT THE TIME.
Description of Work: THEY TOOK A LOOK AT THE MOTOR BECAUSE I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NO DIRT LODGED IN IT. THEY ALSO MODIFIED THE DIRT INTAKE BAG UPON MY REQUEST.
