"They took part of what was cut down while cutting down more bamboo. We noticed this when we got home and only a few hours left and called the owner because they weren’t removing the bamboo that was cut down first like we asked. He was very unpleasant as if we had no right to be redirecting the work on our yard. He said he would take care of it though. After the workers left, we noticed that since they were cutting more down verses removing what we paid them for, the amount of cut bamboo in our yard was almost the same amount. We called the owner and told him they didn’t remove the bamboo that was already cut first like we asked. We asked it to be removed before they cut new bamboo. He argued with me that we were paying for his labor and was very rude, the rudest business owner I’ve ever had to deal with. He wouldn’t even work with us despite the fact that we hired him for a service he didn’t provide, and acted like we had no right to be upset."

Service oriented private business serving a wide aray of customers on many tasks/projects; personal or private services, construction services, business services, financial services etc

"Horrible craftsmanship. He did not order the materials as draws were paid, then wanted more money to order materials. Installed a boat lift as part of the project, it was not installed to spec and dropped our boat. The seawall steps have washed out from rain. Left trash, building scraps all over the work site."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

The best mulches for trees are wood chips, bark nuggets, or pine straw. Depending on your goals, you may want to avoid using plastic, stone, rubber, or wet grass clippings. Plastic mulch prevents water from reaching the mulched areas of your tree, stones don’t offer any nutritional benefits to the soil, rubber can release byproducts into the soil when it decomposes, and wet grass clippings can lead to rot.

Plastic may prove beneficial in cold climates in the winter, but wood chips are the ideal option for most environments.

Topsoil provides plants with essential nutrients, water, and air for healthy root growth. It offers a rich ecosystem of microorganisms that improve soil quality and structure. For existing lawns, ¼ inch of topdressing can enhance root growth and support new seed. For gardens, two inches of topsoil can promote strong growth and crops.

While they’re popular and have a lot of pros, the cons of river rocks include the following:

  • River rocks don’t break down or provide nutrients to plants.

  • These stones can get hot and scorch nearby plants.

  • River stones may heat the surrounding soil to inhospitable temperatures.

  • Rocks can block rainwater from seeping into the ground if installations are too thick or tightly packed.

Most downsides occur when using river rock as mulch in gardens and flower beds. However, you can still incorporate river rocks into your landscape as long as you use them in the correct ways.

Ensure clear delivery pathways, remove obstacles, and prepare to cover surfaces to protect landscaping areas. Coordinating with the provider for an estimated arrival prepares punctuality.

If you hire a professional landscaper, you could expect to pay between $90 and $660 to install three cubic yards of river rock. (That’s based on the average river rock installation cost of $30 to $220 per cubic yard.) However, the exact price depends on the kind of river rock you choose. Crushed limestone and riprap are some of the more affordable options, while boulders and Arizona river rock are pricier.
