I've had problems getting them out. They were supposed to come out last Thursday afternoon, but she didn't show up and didn't call. We stayed home and waited for them (on my birthday!). Whenever I call her, I get a message that says that she "...isn't accepting phone calls. I've emailed her and haven't heard back.

TAS contacted me after hearing from a representative at Angie's List concerning the above it was due to the fact Angie's List had the wrong phone number listed for contact.  After contact was finally made  and a date finalized the crew of 5 including the owner arrived and after a short discussion of the problem of contact they started to work.  Upon their completion the house looked and smelled great.  I will definitely use them again.

Granite Restoration questions, answered by experts

It is advisable to have stone countertops inspected every few years, especially if damage is noticed. Regular maintenance and inspection help catch and resolve issues early, extending the countertops' lifespan.

Yes, it is possible to buff and polish your floors yourself, particularly for smaller areas. However, this is considered an intermediate-level DIY project that is time-consuming and requires patience and know-how. The process involves cleaning the floors before applying a polish, which can be done manually with a cloth or with a rented or purchased floor buffer and buffing solution. If not done correctly, you risk leaving burn-like marks, puddles, or an uneven finish, which could lead to costly repairs. For larger spaces or to ensure a professional result, hiring a professional is often worthwhile. They use industrial equipment to complete the job faster, providing a deep clean and a more even, polished finish without damaging your floors.

No, you cannot use vinegar to polish marble. It is too acidic for cleaning or polishing and can etch the surface. Instead, opt for non-acidic cleaners made specifically for marble. Follow the manufacturer’s directions to ensure proper application and to protect the marble. However, a damp mop can be an effective marble cleaner when used appropriately and as long as moisture is immediately soaked up.

Use pH-neutral cleaners specifically designed for stone surfaces to clean granite or marble. Avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners that can damage the sealant or the stone itself. Regular re-sealing helps protect the surface from stains and damage.

How long it takes to complete stone restoration work will vary from home to home and project to project. Overall, a professional can complete a one-room project in one to two days. When vetting your local contractors, be sure to ask them how long they think the project will take to factor in any that could speed up or prolong the completion of the project.
