We weren’t even thinking that the wood deck needed to be replaced due to the mold. But Gary spelled out why, the quote, and their philosophy. They are very responsive and called us back to check how our quotes were going and if we had questions. Then the parade of sheisters came and went. From roofers to window companys (their the worst) giving us their quotes. Prices reaching as high as 15k over HE quote. Some recommended keeping the wood deck and they would use a spray for the wood (not a quality job). But Gary advised against putting new shingles on compromised wood and he was right. So we went with them and they kept their quoted amount, did a high quality job, kept the timeline, thorough clean up, windows were nicely installed and all of their workers were great! This is a really great contractor, don’t waste your time and money with anyone else

It was a large project involving removing 3 layers of roofing (bottom layer was wood shake shingle, no decking).While not the lowest estimate, it was the lowest with the most experience and great Angie's list & BBB ratings. The roofing was removed, decking put on, new roofing installed, fascia board was replaced along with new gutters and downspouts. The chimneys were tuck pointed and chimney caps put on. The roofing took about 3 days once they started. A crew of 8 worked very hard. Crew manager, Brandon, was very helpful and found a great solution to the problem of what to do with the gap left along the siding edges when 3 layers of roofing was only 1 layer. Brandon was very helpful, answering all my questions as they went along. The clean-up was good (I did find a few nails, and some splinters of shake shingle but I'm sure some was stuck in the large shrubs). The did tarp the attic and did a decent clean-up of the attic. It took 8 days before the gutter crew came out, and while not a big problem it was a little annoying. Overall I am very satisfied and would recommend Home Exteriors

Coming from a family of contractors, I generally hiring the actual individual who's doing the specific job. However, I am so happy I hired Home Exteriors to handle everything on my rental for me! Gary came out to give me the estimate for my complete exterior makeover and I was immediately 'smitten' by his professionalism! Being a big project, I actually met with 5 contractors this time. For the "price contentious" people out there, one estimate was considerably less, another a few hundred less, one was slightly higher and the 5th much higher. Strange but true. I chose to go with Home Exteriors because of his professionalism, his taking the time to actually care and make 'very helpful' suggestions and because of their quality of work as mentioned in their reviews. The work I had done was a complete tear off and new roof, new vinyl siding, with shake and nice accent trim, (which we went over together a few times and he helped me), new gutters and glass block windows. They had a different team of workers for each of the projects which I found to be best. All did excellent work in a timely manner. He also did a great job of getting rid of so many 'unnecessary' electrical wires hanging everywhere from all the different tenants thru the years. My only concern was the gutter guys he used didn't 'take the initiative' to finish off a downspout that was left open hanging towards the driveway with a sharp edge. That surprised me. I called Gary and he sent someone over there immediately! I highly recommend them. I'm still doing my happy dance! 10 stars out of 5! Our only complaint was that the siding crew was messy- they left behind old wood and siding, an old window they replaced (which had to be reinstalled by one of Gary's servicemen b/c it wasn't done properly), empty bottles and cans, cigarette cartons and butts, tools, etc. We called Gary right away and he sent someone out within the day to clean the mess up and fix the window. The siders also left the new windows and siding filthy- black handprints and dirt on the house and white window casings. However- the siding job itself was done very well and looks beautiful. Our home was this crew's 1st job for Gary- he likely didn't know what to expect from them either. Everything else was excellent- no complaints. Windows, doors, roof- great installers, professional, knowledgeable- and they left behind no messes! While Gary was personally only present at our home once during the entire project, he was quick to address our concerns when we called him. Outstanding job

They were very professional and set up an appointment less than 1 week after the quote. We had many snowstorms so they had to reschedule several times. They called ahead of time and were very easy to get a hold of. It was very easy to set up a workable time for them to come do the work. The day they came out to replace the skylight they were very punctual and polite. It was a cold day, and I was suprised that they would be doing roof work in the cold. Overall the job seemed to go well. I noticed after they left that there was scuffs on the outside of the window from where the sticker had been. I hoped this would come off with rain or the weather and did not contact the company to come back out. About a week later I went outside onto my deck where their ladder had been. I found 15-20 rusty nails on the grownd (I have 2 small children, so this was concerning). The day they did the work, there was some snow on the ground, so it's possible they could have been lost. But what had me upset was my deckbox had been broken by what looked like a footprint. It was bothersome that they broke it, but really upsetting that they did not tell me. Because of the crack, it let in rain and snow water into the deckbox causing damage to its contents. I can't say for certain that the workers realized that they broke the box, but I feel it'd be pretty hard to miss it based on the amount of damage. I was not happy with this company at this point. I called on a Sunday and left a message with their receptionist to have a manager contact me immediately. I got a response first thing monday morning. They were very apologetic and sent workers to my house to assess the damage, clean up any other debris, and wipe off the sticker smudges on the outside of the window. The workers still did not own up to the damage, which bugs me a little, but the company did the right thing and wrote me a check for the damage. The check arrived in the mail the very next day. Accidents happen. I wish the workers had let me know immediately what had happened...but they didn't, and I can't assume they purposely hid the damage. The company did everything to make the situation right which is commendable. Overall I'd give them a good rating

They sat down with me to go over the details of the project and made sure that I got Everything I wanted. I was even in contact with Rene who helped me with some of the finally details. They even had some better ideas and suggestions and any changes needed to be made they accommodated it for me They were there almost every day working quickly and so efficiently. Jimmy and Hannah went above and beyond to make this overhang perfect for my family and I to enjoy and it came out looking even better than I imagined! "These guys worked a miracle. My kitchen floor was sinking into my basement. To set the jacks and beams for the floor, Rocco, Sean, and their crew had to crawl back four feet, through an area that had only about a foot of clearance and that was mostly blocked by an HVAC system. Then, they had to excavate manually so that they could pour concrete support for the jacks. The crew completed the job in a day and a half and were courteous, professional, and polite throughout. I highly recommend them for any foundation repair project.
