Most of what we do is full tear-out and replacement. We remove the old cracked, settling, or spalling concrete, rebuild the base the right way, and pour new. We also handle driveway extensions and widening, aprons and curb cuts, stamped and decorative concrete, and concrete repair.\n\nOur crews have poured more than 38,000 residential concrete projects. Every job gets a dedicated project coordinator, up-front pricing with no surprise change orders, and a final walkthrough before we call it finished. Licensed and insured.\n\nNeed a new driveway? "Well done! Paul is a real, highly experienced pro. And a gentleman. He arrived on time, cleaned the surface, repaired a crack going across the driveway, a gouge (at the entrance to the driveway), and sealed my driveway as only a true craftperson would. I will have him return in a few years to seal coat it again. I highly recommend Paul. DWR 4/26/26"

"My 450 ft long driveway badly needed to be regraded and needed a solution to the 2-3 seasonal springs that drained and washed and created deep ruts all winter and spring. TSS came and really studied the problems of the driveway, figured out a great multiple pipe drainage solution, regraded, dug out a boulder that was slowly working its way to the surface, installed the pipes. They used larger gravel around the pipes and a thick layer of gravel and dust over everything. Then rolled/compacted it all with a 3 ton roller. All of this in one day. They were very easy to work with, really listened to all of the unique issues the driveway has, carefully dug out peonies that were in the way of one pipe's end. They did a wonderful job and I'm hoping I can hire them to clear a couple of difficult hillsides befor winter too. First time in years that I can ask people to my house and not explain how to get up the driveway!"

"Our 450 ft driveway was sealed in one day. Austin and Kyle brushed the sealer ensuring an even coat working from sun up till sundown. The price was reasonable and it looked 10 times better than when the previous sealer company sprayed it on. These guys are hard working young men! We highly recommend them!"

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The three most common types of asphalt are hot asphalt, MC cold mix, and UPM asphalt. Hot asphalt is used most often for paving and patching roadways while it’s hot and workable. MC cold mix asphalt cures more slowly than hot asphalt, but it can be used for temporary patches and repairs in low-traffic areas. UPM is also used cold, but it can be used as a longer-term fix, usable in almost any conditions at almost any temperature.

The dimensions of a driveway apron vary based on local building codes, the width of your driveway, and the distance between the driveway and the road. On average, aprons range from 12 to 24 feet wide and 8 to 18 feet long. Typically, the end of the apron connected to the driveway matches its width—such as 10 to 12 feet for a single-car driveway—while the end at the street flares out to allow cars to turn in and out more easily. In some areas, you may not be responsible for the portion of the apron that extends beyond the sidewalk, but this depends on local laws.

Think of the street as a way to capture all the elements on either side of the road, including the road—a street encompasses the homes or other buildings, the trees, and the road of a given area as defined by the beginning and end of the street on a map. A roadway, however, is the component of the street where cars travel.

Several materials are suitable for steep driveways. Gravel and crushed stone are affordable options that provide good traction. Permeable pavers—such as plastic, rubber, or concrete—filled with gravel or crushed stones are also excellent, as they allow water to drain without causing erosion and perform well in ice and snow. Another option is resin, which can be coated with an anti-slip finish and helps prevent puddles. For added stability, you can install a retaining wall to prevent pavers and gravel from shifting over time.

Asphalt edging secures the sides of your driveway to prevent crumbling and cracking over time. Most driveways have edges with a 45-degree grading. This helps transfer some of the stress from the asphalt to the ground underneath. If your driveway doesn’t have proper edging, the pressure from your car may break down the edges over time.
