We are a small company that bids jobs on our own and also sub contracts from other companies. The owner of the company is on every job that we work on. We still do free estimates, but do not be suprised to see that change in the future. Billing is always agreed upon between the [parties before any work is performed. We are good down to earth people with a passion for work and perfection, very skilled in every trade of construction and remodeling and much more. We have a long strong relationship with just about all of are customers, still doing business with many for over ten years, since we have been in business.

Decorative Concrete questions, answered by experts

Most of the time, you or your contractor will spray the concrete form and framework with a release agent or oil to prevent sticking. This is common practice with wood and steel forms. For insulated concrete forms, the styrofoam formwork often remains in place after construction, so you don’t need to treat it beforehand. Foam concrete forms made out of melamine also may not need treatment beforehand, as the material naturally won’t stick to the concrete after it’s cured.

When hiring a concrete contractor, you should seek someone with proven experience, proper licensing, and insurance. You should also check reviews online, talk to references, and view past project photos. Remember that reliable contractors communicate openly and have an expert understanding of local building codes. You’ll also want to ensure that the contractor specializes in the specific type of concrete work you want, whether a driveway or tinted concrete flooring.

Yes, concrete is recyclable, but you can’t just drop it off at a traditional recycling center. Most major cities have specific concrete recycling centers that will accept your concrete disposal and break it down using industrial equipment. Recycled concrete can be used to create environmentally sustainable items like gabion walls to protect shorelines.

Yes. A septic tank riser is meant to replace a septic tank cover—concrete, metal, fiberglass, or otherwise—while still allowing easy access to the opening of the tank. Just as you would need to be mindful of the septic tank lid when it comes to mowing the lawn or other yard usage, you’ll have to be cautious not to damage or otherwise disrupt the septic tank riser.

Placing either a layer of mixed-size gravel or a paver base under your crushed concrete driveway is a good idea. The smaller pieces will compress and prevent the larger pieces of concrete from driving into the soil below, helping to avoid sinking over time under the weight of vehicles. For added protection from sinking and weeks, you can also install a heavy-duty weed liner beneath the gravel or paver base. Just be sure to use a permeable material to avoid drainage problems.
