"Chris with Friesen Family Renovations, LLC was very professional and thorough in the work he has completed. He installed a new screen door, replaced my tub stem and faucet, repaired my subfloor in the kitchen and installed brand new LVP flooring to replace old and water damaged flooring. He also mounted a television for me, and did some drywall repairs as well. I would recommend this business to anyone looking for quality and dependable work!"

Small jobs welcome

"I couldn’t ask for a better contractor to trust with my projects than Phil and the WeBuild Construction crew. I went to Phil with a vision of what we wanted, he provided excellent input and help us build our project and turned in into reality. Exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Creativity and willingness to customize and make our building exactly what we wanted. It went from a basic bare bones pole building to a custom built rough cut lumber lean-to/sitting area add on and an awesome loft that wouldnt have been possible without him helping us build our vision into something special. Aside from our pole barn build, he has done outstanding work adding sliding barn doors and repairing our 100 yr old barn with slate roof. Not much the WeBuild crew couldnt do. Cant recommend them enough!"

"Yoder Decking replaced our old 300 sq. ft. deck with new composite decking, new rails, new skirting and new stairway. In addition, they replaced and added to existing deck supports as needed. They were professional, easy to work with, and reasonably priced. In addition, they kept their schedule. The new deck looks great. I highly recommend them ."

"The work was stellar and amazing! Jason and his crew came over and took out my half moon window that was cracked repaired all the wood around it so the window company can put a new window in. They sealed it, they stained the wood that was older and put it all back together. They were on top of the roof sealing things and make sure no rain could get in. The whole job was amazing. I was impressed. Many other companies didn’t wanna deal with this “ difficult project”, these guys handle it with ease. Jason, his crew are very polite and considerate when moving in out of your house. I’m gonna have them do more work in my house. I have want to thank Angi list for giving me these guys."

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

Rot loves moisture, so deck rot typically impacts the parts of a board that stay wet. This includes the underside of boards, in addition to support posts and joists. However, any part of a board can rot, given the right conditions.

Be careful when choosing a product to help you remove ice from your wood deck. Never use sand, gravel, or salt, since these items can damage and scratch the wood. Instead, look for chemical de-icers that are marked as safe for wood decks or use hot water to melt snow and ice.

Pressure-treated wood contains preservatives that give the material internal protection from rot and pests. Untreated lumber won’t last more than a few years unless you choose a more expensive wood, like cedar, that naturally stands up well to moisture. Composite decking can outlast wood but is more expensive and doesn’t look as natural. Keep in mind that you’ll need to seal any exterior wood product to protect it from the elements and other forms of external damage.

The least expensive way to build a pool deck is with concrete deck blocks, pressure-treated lumber, and the appropriate hardware for hanging joists and securing deck boards. With these basic yet durable deck materials, you'll have a pool deck that's built to last without the high price tag. You should also stain or seal the deck to protect it against the elements.

While the terms deck and porch are often used interchangeably, they are two distinct structures. A porch is a covered structure, usually attached to the front of a home, that offers protection from the elements. In contrast, a deck is an open, uncovered platform, often attached to the back or side of a home. Because porches have a roof, they typically require less maintenance than decks, but both features need regular cleaning and repairs to stay in good condition.
