They came back within the week and provided the quote to remove the tree and grind down the stump. They performed the work within the promised tiime frame; cleaned up, and did a very nice job. I'd use them again. I felt the price was very reasonable.
Description of Work: I needed an old crabapple tree removed from the front yard. I saw them working in a neighbor's yard, and after checking The List, called them to provide a quote.

This company has helped me baby my big, old hardwood trees for the last 15 years, so after too much storm damage weakened them, only Wright's Tree Service could take them down for me. Brian worked with me on price and schedule and he and his team expertly and carefully removed them over 3 days. I called other companies for bids, but in the end I only trusted Wrights to do this work.

I was concerned that the crew arrived on a very rainy spring day, but they assured me that they work in these conditions all the time and I was not to be concerned about them. True to their word, they set to work and did a great job. They cleaned up all the leaves and branches and did an excellent job. They worked quickly and very efficiently and obviously enjoyed working with each other. They were a great team! I can't say enough good about this company. I have recommended them to friends and neighbors.
Description of Work: Wright's sent a certified arborist over to give me an estimate on the work I wanted them to do. Brian was very courteous and answered all my questions. I thought his estimate was very reasonable, given the amount of work I wanted to have them do. I had them trim the large silver maple in my side yard, and the large silver maple in my backyard. They also removed two "Empress" trees and trimmed a third, and removed a small tree in my back yard. They ground up the stumps on the two trees they removed.

I am so disappointed. When the city told us that they'd cut down our ash tree because of the emerald ash borer a year ago, they recommended Wright's to treat the tree as another option. They were very professional in this instance. They came out promptly to give an estimate and treated it without futher issue. And they've been great about coming back out to continue treatments. We love our tree. So naturally, we didn't hesitate for a second when the big summer storm broke a branch high up in our maple tree. We called in late July for someone to come out for an estimate. It took them a while to come out, but that didn't worry us with the rush. However, THAT WAS THREE AND A HALF MONTHS AGO. We've called at least two or three times. Honestly, over that period of time, I can't remember. We're consistently told the guy in charge of that isn't available, we leave a message, NOTHING. They did give us a service date back in the summer, which came and went uneventfully. No calls, nothing.
Description of Work: Two years ago, they treated our ash tree for emerald ash borer, and have continued to come out to treat the tree. They completely flaked on cutting down a simple broken branch in our maple tree this summer/fall. It still hasn't happened. Update: The day after I posted this, Wright's called me and offered to do the work the next day with $40 off. And they actually did it.

I had a sick tree cut down and was to have the stump removed. Most all communication was done by e-mail. The medium size tree was cut down and all debris cleaned up. The stump was not removed because their small stump grinder was in need of new blades at the time so I had to wait. Eventually I decided not to remove the stump because I was not sure what structures might be under it and I would have been responsible for damage to any utility lines, etc. (Call-Before-You- Dig). I paid for both jobs. In the meantime at Wright's Tree Service recommendation, I requested another tree on the property be thinned. Then the huricane force winds of July came and they were busy cleaning up the city of Columbus, along with all the other companies. By the end of August, I just got tired of waiting for the tree to be thinned, so I requested all work be cancelled. After two phone calls, I could not get anyone to tell me if I was still even on their list of jobs pending. They also recommended a fall fertilization, but I think I'll just wait and investigate other resources and get the work done antoher time.
Description of Work: Do let them cut down your trees. Do let them advise you and give estimates and recommendations. Be sure you know who is liable for any damage to underground structures "Call Before You Dig" was useless. They write scribble on the grass in the front yard, that means who knows what, when the work area was in the back. They also have a disclaimer that lets you know that there may still be something under ground that they are not aware of and that you are still responsible. So you are right back where you started. Don't communicate by e-mail or expect an e-mail to be a contract with any company (Duh!). There was no actual contract until I got smart. Be aware that this company comes at their convenience and you may never know they are coming. They tell you that. Storms happen and the small jobs get put aside.

We had used this tree service in our prior home, where we had a big lot and MANY trees. So we continued after we downsized. The second generation Wright did every bit as well as his father before him. He trimmed and shaped a river birch VERY well. We saw the poor results that other owners in our neighborhood had when they used yard people, not tree experts like Wright's.

I called Wright's Tree Service since I had used them in the past and they did a good job then. I asked them to have someone come out and give me an estimate to remove the tree and grind the stump. As I anticipated I was told it would be a few days before they could get to me since there were so many people with storm damage. Someone came out to my house to look at the tree two days later on July 4th which was a pleasant surprise. That's where the pleasant experience ended. Two weeks later I had not received a quote so I called Wright's and left a message with their answering service. I got a return call and the person said they did not recall the damage to my tree and they were still real busy but he would put a rush on my tree. As of August 8th I have not heard back from them. I can understand that the major storm created a lot of backlog for tree service companies but I am still just waiting on a QUOTE let alone getting the job scheduled.
Description of Work: I have a large tree 40-50' that was severely damaged in the Columbus area storms in late June. I need to have the tree removed completely and grind the remaining stump.

My husband was home for the estimate and really liked the information provided by this provider. We did receive other quotes in a similar price range but went with this provider based on my husband's comfort level and their rating here on Angie's List. A lot of time passed from when the estimate was received and I ended up emailing them (my quote request and the scheduling of that all took place via email) to find out how long I should expect to wait to schedule the service. Several days later I received a call that they were coming out to do it in 20 minutes. Apparently they had a last minute cancellation. I was tending a sick child and trying to work all at the same time and refused. I asked when it would be scheduled and was told I'd get a call in about a week to schedule it. A week later I emailed again and at that point was asked if the 25th would work and did I want morning or afternoon. The crew arrived promptly and got right to work. This would have been fine except they didn't even let me know they had arrived. They talked to my neighbor several times but the only interaction I had with them was when I heard them and stepped outside to see what was going on. I watched them work and they were quite impressive. They dropped the tree quickly and had everything cleaned up within a matter of minutes. Unfortunately my excitement was somewhat dampened when I took a call and returned to the window and they had packed up and left without telling me and without performing the stump grinding. After calling the office and leaving a message (they use an answering service so never expect to get anyone knowledgeable when you call) I was called back several hours later. Apparently the stump grinding machine was being repaired and they were intending to return the next week to do that part. When I asked Brian why I wasn't informed of this he was very apologetic that the crew hadn't kept me informed. He indicated they are supposed to engage the customer before beginning work and before departing and that he'd follow up with them on this oversight. I opted to cancel the stump grinding and will have that taken care of later. The net of the situation is they did amazing work. They just need to work on their communications with their customers. Once they fix this they will be probably the best tree service company available.

Based upon their reviews, we obtained a bid from Wright's and just went with it b/c everyone on Angie's list said they were significantly cheaper than anyone else. We were in a bit of sticker shock from the quote. Admittedly, we live in the country, and this quote was for a rental property in the city, so we expected a price differential from what we pay for tree removal at home, but Wow. Regardless, we did hire them, as we didn't expect anyone was going to give us a significantly lower price. We actually never met them. They made an appointment to evaluate and write up a bid, and they mailed it to us. We accepted it, and scheduled the work for a week out. They arrived on the scheduled day, and removed the tree. We drove out a couple of days later to inspect the work, and it turns out they left all the wood there. We called that day and left a message with their phone service, then again the next day, and on that next day they returned the call, and said they would take care of it. We drove out a couple of days later, and the wood was all gone. We think the reason the wood was left is because one of the tenants (we found this out later) had asked them to leave some smaller branches, which resulted in all the wood being left behind. I don't know what the tree trimmer was thinking (it's clearly a rental property, so the tenant didn't have authority to make the request). The point is - Wright's didn't just skip out on completing the job, I think a tenant introduced some confusion. But when we reached Wright's, they took care of it completely and promptly. Overall, their job was professional and timely and exactly as promised. No hassles working with them
Description of Work: Cut down a tree, removed all branches and wood. It's on a city lot, next to a garage, and growing in some power lines. We received a 5% Angie's List discount.

Came out a gave an estimate a few days after the initial call. Seemed a bit high, but had used them before and they did a good job. After estimate, took 2 phone calls and two emails to finally get a date for them to come out. Busy time of year? Crew of 3 did a good job. However, clean up was not great. No damage, just leaves and small branches all over when done. Would use again, but need to be more responsive and clean up a bit more.

Brian did a great job. The trees have never been trimmed before and were in dire need of it. Care was taken to trim the trees from bottom to top. The shape of the trees were maintained and if anything enhanced from the trim. They looked less cluttered and are pleasing to the eye. He had to trim a lot from each tree too. I very pleased with the results and I think the prices was right on for services rendered. I will be using him again as the need arises and have recommended his services to friends and neighbors.

Went well overall. For this homeowner having opportunity to dialogue with the professionals is important, finding out what will be happening , options if things are not going smoothly, how/when the treatment response should be noted. Willing to make that time when coming out to the home. You make the appointment, they are timely and available for conversation, and the work is done. No complaints what so ever!
Description of Work: Good company. Has been providing tree care, pruning, fertilizing for past few years. They are knowledgable and patient when peppered with multiple questions from an anxious home owner. The results seen the the foilage and quality of tree growth has been notable. We have been pleased with the results. Will continue to call them for yearly treatments and consultation.

On the scheduled day, I waited until 1:00, in the afternoon, called their office, and I was told that they would be there sometime later, this afternoon. They came and did the work, I was not there to see what they were doing. I was disappointed in the overall apperance of the work, so I called them immediately. Brian called me right back, and he explained why they did what they did. I am a fairly new homeowner, so I didn't know what to expect. I understand more now,but I'm a bit disappointed with the overall experience. I did not get estimates first, the price seemed fair to me, but friends and family that I talked to said the price was a little high. They did trim the bush out back for no charge, which was a nice gesture, and they did have a coupon on Angie's List, which I used. Cleanup was great, they left nothing behind, and even locked both gates. They even came back, the next day, when I called, to reinstall the walkway lights. They had taken these down so as not to get damaged, when they did the tree work. Overall, Wright's Tree Service did a decent job, but next time I will get estimates first. I'm not sure, at this time if I'll use their services again. I checked the no box, as there isn't a maybe box to check!
Description of Work: I called Wright's Tree Service based on reviews on Angie's List. They came out,and then called me with an estimate to trim a large tree in back, trim a bush out front and to cut back a bush that hangs over my parking space in the back of my home. Brian also gave me an estimate to cut down a very large branch from my neighbor's tree as it was dangerous and hanging over my property. I did tell him to go ahead and cut the branch down as I didn't want anyone walking by to get hurt.

The two workers who came to take down my tree were efficient and very professional. They did a great job taking down a big tree without having to move the cars parked very near by. Everything went quickly and smoothly and they cleaned up the whole site before they left. They didn't grind the stump, but told me someone else would be by later in the week to do it (again, I don't know when). I asked one of the men what kind of tree he would recommend I plant in place of the removed tree and he gave me several excellent, educated suggestions--these guys know their trees! I also asked about trimming another large tree in my backyard. He gave me very good feedback, and actually said it looked healthy and didn't need trimmed. He went on to teach me what things to look for (e.g., dead branches, etc) which would suggest that I get it trimmed. I was very impressed that he was honest and didn't try to sell me a service I didn't need. I would very highly recommend this company for their quality work, professional behavior, and reasonable pricing.
Description of Work: I had a large Bartlet Pear tree removed from in front of my house (includes having the stump ground out). The estimate I got from Wright's was $100 less than the other two estimates I received, and they came out and gave it to me within a few days of my request. When I opted to go with Wright's they said it would be done within a week or two, though they didn't give me an exact date/time. After about a week, I asked for an exact date/time and was told the crew was scheduled for that very afternoon. This was fast service, but I would have like advanced notification so I could arrange to be home for the service. I did make it home in time, though the workers went straight to work without even knocking on my door first. This is the first tree I've had removed, so I don't know if it is customary to do the work in the absence of the homeowner, but that's apparently how Wright's does it. This is ok, but as a liable homeowner, I always like to be around when people are working on my property.

A couple days after contacting them, they came out to review the work and provide an estimate. When they arrived to do the actual worked, they contacted me (as I wasn't home) to verify the scope of the work and which bushes were being removed. When I arrived home later that day, they had done a great job cleaning up. Only the absence of the trees and bushes denoted they had been there.

I was amazed that the work could be done in the rain, but the crew arrived as scheduled and completed the everything except the stump grinding within a couple of hours. They cleaned up and disposed of all the limbs and twigs. A few days later I returned home from work to find that the "stump crew" had ground the stumps. I a received the invoice in the mail and found that the bill matched the estimate exactly. I couldn't ask for better service. I expected to pay at least $1,000 for all the work that was done, so I was very happy with my experience with this company.
Description of Work: I had two large silver maples trimmed; two large flowering trees and a small sapling cut down and the stumps ground.
